I used to post here a lot like... 3 years ago?

Man... all the free time I had when I was a student.

Anyway, half past 4 on a Friday, my code's compiling, and I suddenly felt all nostalgic.

And now I finally know what stone monkey looks like (he never posted pics back then).

So how's tricks?

Bloody hell! Hello stranger... :D Long time no see.

I wouldn't have thought anyone would have been particularly interested in what I looked like...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Was wondering where you'd gone, weren't posting in the DB or in the Games forum anymore.

Things have been ok here, lots of changes as you can see.

So what have you been up to since you left us?

I thought you were dead Scratch that, I KNOW you died.

Welcome back anyway.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Got my degree. Moved. Put my dog down. Went to a funeral. Got a job. Moved again. Went to another funeral (the set of my grandparents and the set of living people is now disjoint).

Not the happiest three years of my life. On the plus side, there are no people (or pets) in my immediate vicinity who are likely to kick the bucket any time soon. Also, I'm not a poor student any more. And working as a programmer is way more fun than studying to be one. No more boring lectures. No more contrived problems. No more lazy team members who couldn't code themselves out of a paper bag.

Though, I have to say, working 8+ hours a day sure cuts into your free time something fierce. So I suspect I won't be back for good. Too many other things to do.

@stone monkey: I always pictured you as a massive Samoan type of guy for some reason. Maybe because of the easter island avatar. Or maybe you just project formidability. :D

Kind of funny to see some of the threads from back then still alive and kicking. How on earth did "Christian Rock" survive for three years!?

Of course you're back for good. Maybe not every day, but you'll find that dropping in for a few minutes now and then is a relaxing way to unwind. We have you now.

I remember those . I think I took part in one or two, they were the on just around when I started making the occasional foray into the Phoenix Inn. Welcome back!

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

How long have you been a member for? XD

You would've just been disappearing around when I joined, or maybe even awol already, so no, I don't remember you, Fool. Nice to have you stop in, though! :D

He's part of the Malazanempire.com legend (most notably: the fools rebellion), so it's no wonder new people can't place him but think they know him nonetheless. His name just pops up whenever the oldies starts to reminiscence.
