Now, you see if you came to Wales, particularly the South West, you would not have to be cold. Forget the fact that it's actually one of the warmer parts of the country due to the gulfstream, no, it would be the druidic oral and literary traditions that would warm the cockles of your heart, not to mention the breath of slumbering dragons..... :respect:

Ancient oak woodlands, jurassic coastlines and the oldest spoken language in Europe, also King Arthur used to live here :The Force: , it's true !

You forgot to mention the Noodle mines.........

Bwood, for a start you have to be invited, but this is beside the point. Your emo-ness prevents any possibility of you ever entering this bastion of manliness. I'm amazed you made it north of the Watford gap :The Force:

Hey, I've been to Wales a number of times. I mean, mostly I had to pay for the priviledge, but still...

Cold? Rain? I'm not sure what those are. We don't have them in Texas. And wind here is usually hot and dusty.

Oh noes ! That's top secret, the billions made from the various noodle veins being exploited at the moment will be spent on a cunning plan that will see global dominance and pre-eminence return to this part of the world.

The empire was built on the back of coal, the new one will be no different, except we will be using noodles.

Ahhhh, you are of course refering to the man tax you have to pay in order to cross the Severn Bridge ?

I hope so, I dread to think what other forms of "payment" could have been exacted from you in order for you to enjoy the privilege. :The Force:

Argh, what a dilemma. I mean obviously, Wales and Scotland are far inferior places, but the one place you have in Gods favourite is in freaking Lancashire, the scum of the North (Obviously you have it half right, in going up North, but you got the wrong side!!) Man I would not like to make that decision. :respect:

@Masans Saddle - just think how much more money they would make if they charged people to leave Wales... :The Force:

It's sad that it isn't necessary any longer to ride a giant hovercraft to get to England. That was one of the highlights of my young life.

No, there are two options in and around the Lakes. One is in Lancashire, it's true, but the other is in the North Lakes, between Keswick and Penrith.

It's not that I don't want to go to Wales...I do. I've wanted to go to Wales ever since I read the Dark is Rising series. It's that all the pictures I've found of the specific places I'd be staying recommend me more to Scotland and Cumbria.

@ Slow Ben, the tumbleweeds are further west of Austin. People from West Texas think Austin is a water soaked Eden. I went to college in the Midwest, so I know better. I wish we had real winter weather here, the best we can hope for is a sometimes chilly, sometimes warm and humid monsoon season starting in November.

Carnforth (although previously a good way into Lancashire) these days is only in the county by about 2 or 3 feet.

There's only a small part of the UK in Ireland, and I doubt it's the most worthwhile piece to visit :-)

Alas, there isn't a timeshare available for trade in Ireland at this late date.

There's a lot to do in November in Wales other than enjoy the scenery, drink some great local ales and chase sheep, not necessarily in that order. There's some great places to go, Pendine is around the corner if you like long walks ion the beach (its a few miles long) and plenty of other beautiful places to. Llanstephan is right around the corner and has a small ruined castle Felinfoel beer is brewwed in the region and the Double Dragon Ale is pretty good. Cardiff is only about and hour and 15 mins away, big city with plenty to do and pretty good night life.

I grew up a few miles from Laughrne in a village with the odd to english ears sounding name of Abergwili. It means mouth of the River Gwili. We could have a competition to come up with alternative definitions. Here's one: "talking whilst perfroming Oral Sx" :)

Pallol - feeling a little nostalgic

Aye, if you go to the Heath, I'm there quite a lot. I would buy you a pint. Then tell you that you should have gone to England. :)
