First question:
Do you know what order you will be drafting in?
During the first round you want to take a running back unless you are drafting at the end of the order then you might want to take Dree Brees and then a running back. If you are drafting in the middle of the order then you should either take LT or Deangelo Williams. Do not take a WR in the first round. Or in the 2nd round.
You will need to go to a web site likeFantasy football
and look to see what player is ranked were. My suggestion is to take as high ranked player as is available for the position that you need. Also don't bother taking a kicker till either the late 14th round or the 15th round. Defenses should be taken in the 9th or 10th rounds. Tight ends should be taken in the 7th or 8th rounds. If you can't get a top 5 quarterback by round 3 don't bother taking one till round 5. You are better off piling up on Running back and WR. However if you can get a top 5 QB in round 3 then take him. Again this will all depend on what your draft order is.
If you google Fantasy football cheat sheat or fantasy football draft order then that should give you a lot of hints.
Good luck DKT

It is accually harder than i thought to get a good draft and alot of stuff happends that you didnt expect.
This draft here was my first and i didnt get half the players i wanted, but when i look at the other teams i feel sure that neither did they.
So a few things i learned from my first draft.
1. If a good QB are important to you, be ready to take him way before his ranking, especially if other do so, or you might end up with Hasselbeck like i did.( You bastards)
2. Tight end are really deep. If you look at rankings the best go from about round 4, but you can easily get a good 1 way later. I wish i had taken a 2nd Running back instead of an early TE.
3. This last point i didnt think about much until after the draft, and it might cost me heavily. When i checked my final roster and looked at what i thought might be my starters, it turned out that my top 2 WR have the same bye week and both my QB have the same bye week. (DOH) as if thats not enough 5 of my 15 players have the same bye week. So if i dont make some serious trades or changes i will lose for sure in week 4 and 7.
So dont do the same mistakes as me and good luck dktorode.

Yeah by weeks can be a killer. But if you have managed to put together a quality team, and most of them have the same bye week then it is better to just eat that one loss and win the whole thing then to fret about it to much...

I think #8 Matt Hasselbeck is going to have a stellar year and I would trade you Kerry Collins for him in a heartbeat !

If the TE position is so deep how come you only have 1

You didn't check your bye weeks

Q: If the TE position is so deep how come you only have 1
A: I took the best damn TE, so dont need backup yet.
Q: You didn't check your bye weeks
A: Never imagined it would give this big a headache.
A few questions from me to the usual experts.
1. Do i need to have my full roster ready before Thursdays game or only the players involved in that game? Right now i have taken L. white off so i can set my whole team Saturday.
2. Will Tuberski and Caladanbrood ever make a lineup of any kind?
3. How badly will i beat Venge in the first Match and will he cry after?
4. How much beer is the right amount to have ready on any given sunday?

A: I took the best damn TE, so dont need backup yet.

Not an expert, but...
1. Do i need to have my full roster ready before Thursdays game or only the players involved in that game? Right now i have taken L. white off so i can set my whole team Saturday.
I'm not sure but I think that you probably do (in order to avoid some bet-hedging shenanigans or something)
2. Will Tuberski and Caladanbrood ever make a lineup of any kind?
I hope not? =P I play one of their teams next week.
3. How badly will i beat Venge in the first Match and will he cry after?
Barring extreme luck (in either direction), it'll probably be a close game.
4. How much beer is the right amount to have ready on any given sunday?
I don't drink, but I imagine you'd want just enough without puking.

you can change any position until kick off of the game they are in. but once a game starts you can not touch them.

Hope everyone's ready for tomorrow's regular season kick off!
*sighs* I almost feel guilty (not really) about how badly my team is going to beat Stud Muffin's. I mean let's, be honest here, he's in for a major ass kicking! I'll just have to get him a watermelon or something to make up for it. I've already purchased a box of kleenex for him in the event that he gets beaten so badly it brings him to tears

Welcome back Brood, i was about to become worried. Waiting eagerly for you to make your line up and post some smack.
I am starting to get nervous. 3 of my 4 WR are still day to day with their injuries.
TB i think you are gonna lose your opening game btw.

Well than you for your opinion Daser! I on the other hand happen to think I am going to win. Unlike you, none of my players are injured, sure my point total is going to be a little low as I can't play Lynch for the first four games. I would rather have him starting, but that's not a big deal. My only concern is that I have both Holmes and Parker in the line up, but that's not a huge deal. I'm confident I can pull it out, I have solid RB's and an excellent QB, my WR's are solid too. Not to mention my back up QB is quality as well. I know not everyone would pick Dallas dst, but I am a cowboys fan and I think they will be decent this year. It's not going to be easy going up against slum with AP in his lineup, but I can still win the game.

TB has a great shot at winning her matchup even without lynch, who will only improve her team even more once hes back. And just wait till PM tears it up against the jags def, she wont need anyone else!

My reason for picking Slum to win is because of 3 things.
1. I think the Titans will win a low scoring match against the Steelers, so i dont see many points in S. Holmes and W. Parker.
2. Dallas wins over Tampa and Slum has T. Romo and R. Williams.
3. A. Peterson will score enough to balance P. Manning this week.
Daser has looked in his magic 8 ball and know these things are true!

I doubt the game is going to be that low scoring. Of course there is a possibility the Titans could win, I would like to point out though, that the Steelers haven't lost a season opener in six years. A lot of people think Parker is washed up, but I think he's going to be solid. No he's not flashy, but he will get me consistent points.
As for the Cowboys, they are definitely my team, but I don't have a ton of faith in Romo. Furthermore Williams is coming off of that shoulder injury and no one knows how well he's going to play. Win or lose, as long as the Dallas defense has a decent game I will pick up some points there too.
There's no doubt that AP is the center of the Vikings offense and is going to tear it up on the running front. That being said they are still going through an adjustment period with Favre, so I don't expect them to be entirely solid.
It's going to be close, but I am pretty confident I can pull out the win.
