You accidentally bought some doubles.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Hello everyone! :D

I'm new to these forums - and the Malazan series - so what better way to introduce myself than to show off my recently acquired collection of awesomeness? These are all Bantam MMPBs:

Where did you get the smaller versions of Dust of Dreams and The Crippled God?

Must be some kind of new batch because for example the only difference I notice is Midnight Tides with "Steven Erikson" written in silver (instead of gold like the others).

While for example my version of Memories of Ice has the name colored in red, while yours fits with all the rest.

I got my books from the Book Depository. Links for anyone interested:

I don't know whether some of them are reprints - all the pictures I've seen of MoI have the red lettering you described, but my book says it's from 2002, so I've no idea. :)

Very weird. These aren't standard UK.

They appear as "Bantam USA". I guess I'm going to make some orders...

Or, it seems now Bantam makes two version of the same mass market, one bigger and one in the original smaller format:

One's a mass market paperback and one's an even more mass market paperback.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I guess they're some hybrid UK/Canadian or purely Canadian editions, as the back cover of DoD has a MSRP listed in GBP and CAD, tCG has it only in CAD. :)

As to the formats - there are two main different MMPB formats, known as the "A format" (smaller) and the "B format" (larger). The larger one seems to be gaining popularity - for example, I had a pretty hard time finding the latest GRRM book in the smaller format.

this is an image that is merge of two pics, since no software I tried to use would merge em nicely... anyway, my MBotF series is in one shelf, and so the books are kept standing nicely, I made a "book" of a styrofoam, wrapped in tape, front side sporting a list of the books, with "helmets" above and below

I ordered em all at once, and for some reason the last three came in B-formats... didnt mind since they werent more expensive than the A-sized ones :D

Korbal and Broach tiny omnibus is there as well, just not taken pics of those yet... ICE's books are about to arrive and Forge of Darkness is pre-ordered :D

anyway, hello everybody... I just <3 my collection, a sort of flagship of my humble library :D

I got my copies of TtH, DoD and TCG from Book Depository, too, so that I could have the whole series in the same size :)

Here's the quick-and-dirty MS Paint method:

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

i'll also add as extras the new books i'll be acquiring after this, as i got empire in black and gold just earlier,

Hmm, my collection would be rather interesting regarding all other posted here - it's on Kindle! But I guess, I will get the hardcovers just for re-read

OK just moved into my new house and finally have all my books in one spot. MoI is out on lone and so is Game of Thrones. The 2 Erikson books on the top are my autographed copies. The 2 book shelves to the right are books I haven't read yet. I kind of went overboard when Borders closed. Anybody see anything I should read right away?

(Jen'isand Rul, the Wanderer within the Sword)
'I am the Shield Anvil.' I am Fener's grief. I am the world's grief. And I will hold. I will hold it all, for we are not yet done. <Itkovian>
'We are not born innocent, simply unmeasured.' <Hull Beddict>
'Because a god visits her, Fist. He comes to break her heart. Again and again.'<Nether>
'Fucking dragon.' <Fiddler>
Take my breath. But not this one, not this one. <Apsalar>
'Aye.' It's a good word. I think. More a whole attitude than a word, really. With lots of meaning in it, too. A bit of 'yes' and a bit of 'well fuck' and maybe some 'we're all in this together.' So a word to some up the Malazans. <Sunrise>

Now, with stuffing FoD into my book shelf, here we go:

ICE is suffering the fate of having to endure the company of assorted other stuff, and my only signed SE books are Revolvo and Fishin' With Grandma Matchie.
