Well, since I am very new to the series, I have just started my collection. So far I think I am doing pretty good for someone only on DG. I have The limited edition numbered/signed Gotm Sub. press book. (Wow was it expensive) I have DG UK hardback version otw via shipping and I have the entire series of 9 books in paper just for reading purposes. As I read each book I will hunt down the bantam first ed. and/or Tor first ed. hardback to collect. I plan on collecting all of his rare stuff as I am a rare book collector anyhow and I teach literature for a living. For those Tolkein fans I will try to get some pics up of my very rare and pricey LotR books going back to the 1950s...yes 50's!

With the arrival of RotCG I decided to finally put up a picture of the collection. So far I have most of the SFBC hardcovers, about half of the trade paperbacks with UK covers and just starting MMPB in the UK covers. I'm a little crazy about books.

Me being a member of the Austrian Tolkien society, would be interested to see a picture of those. :shocking:
the only really pricey rare book I own is the limited 'Gardens of the Moon' though. although I have Tolkien books in all languages I can understand reading.

Only thing in my collection I'm proud of. Everything else is paperback (GotM and DoD) or mass market paperback (DG - TtH). Also have a book club edition of RG (thought I was purchasing regular-sized hardback when I purchased it).

First edition, signed by both Erikson and Lockwood (cover artist).

That's pretty cool!

DG UK hardback version - that reminds me of "rodents of unusual size? - I don't think they exist" :p
Where did you get that from?

The little white book is a proof copy of blood follows.
The GOTM is 1st ed (I've got a few other 1st editions but they have parrot bites in them.
There is another stonewielder from PS that that hasnt arrived yet.
The shiny thing is the special edition of GotM.
I also have a non-traycased version of crack'd pot.
I dont think theres awt special about the tales of B and C, I just put it in there...
Oh an Lees isn't the slipcased version, the others are.

In the preview this is a huge image, please tell me how to fix this if it annoys anyone!

Had to remove my Dark Tower-collection from the shelf to make place for the new Malazan-books I bought (3 Esslemont-novels, RG, TTH, DoD & CG). Hope mister King won't mind going into the box instead.

My modest collection. All paperback, but that's what they have at my bookstore, so that's what I get. Sorry for the stupidly large size, I don't know how to make it smaller.

Nice collection, SabreUr. Malazan series must be quite a big undertaking for the translator I presume. Wish I had them in finnish also. Now-a-days it does'nt matter what they put out translated as long as it sells as much and as quick as possible... quite understandable though...

Don't worry Toke, time will come. Maybe HBO "Game of Thrones" will make complex fantasy popular? Not only "forbidden love between sparklepires and teenagers" - plague of bookshelves in Poland.
About translation, i guess it's a challenge, and lots of work. I can only imagine how hard it is sometimes.
I'm comparing some names and titles in polish and english version to see what are the differences between them - It's interesting topic, maybe worth of separate discussion :).

End of OT

I dread the idea. Books always lose something upon translation, even if the quality of translation is superb (as with Harry Potters). And with our education around here, anyone should be able to pick up reading books in English easily enough... maybe not starting with Erikson, though.

As for my own collection, unfortunately nothing fancy here; only one version of each book, and as of yet missing Stonewielder.

I can't believe Kobayashi's the only one thus far to post a pic of a completed MBotF series set! (And yes, I've been meaning to do mine.)
