Sounds cool.

Titanicwasa good movie. It just got so overhyped there was a huge backlash. It got to be cool to hate on Titanic, so cool people are still doing it. By no means the best movie ever, but solid. Leo was a bit douchy, but whatever. If you were watching that movie for Leo you've got bigger problems than I care to address. Although, he has turned into a good actor, who is STILL wrongly affected by the backlash to Titanic.

Er... No. Titanic was a bad film; hamfisted scripting, horribly acted, ropey effects work (even for the time). There was actually no sort of backlash whatsoever against it at the time, I recall being one of the contemporary naysayers and there weren't all that many of us. This is amply evidenced by the fact that it won 9 or so Academy Awards; and in each category it should have lost to one of the many superior films released that year.... What hasn't been kind to it is time, people now see it for what it was rather than what the hype of the time portrayed it to be. There may very well be cool people who hate on it for being overhyped, which it most definitely was, but the rest of us dislike it because we have taste...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Your points are sound but it made more money than many small countries, thus, it was a success.

So yeah. Cops can deal with crazy people. I only deal with critters and kids.

hey, did you know that if you click the 'quote' button in another thread, but change threads and reply to something else in a whole other forum, the 'quote' post gets carried along, hence the above utterly unrelated yet amusing Rodeo moment.

I didn't say it wasn't a success (except from an artistic point of view) merely that it's a horrible film.

Does any one know if this movie is coming out in the cinema as 2D as well as 3D?

Well, afaik they waited a number of years to get the CGI tech to the point where it was usable for their purposes, so yeah there will be a lot of CGI, but from the trailer, I thought is was done well.

I watched Titanic yesterday for the first time since it was released. I am not ashamed to confess that I wept like a mentally deficient teenage Leonardo DiCaprio fan towards the end. I didn't notice how hilarious the sketching scene was 10 years ago. Charcoal boob rubbage! And you even see Winslet bush! I must have been too busy looking at her norks the first time.

Anyway, it was a timely reminder to not get my hopes up too high for Avatar. While Cameron does action and adventure brilliantly well, when it comes to romance he has all the emotional subtlety of a mentally deficient teenage Leonardo DiCaprio fan and I do believe we will be getting alien on alien action in this movie.

It also reminded me of how much action one of my mates at uni used to get because he looked the spitting image of DiCaprio through a pair of beer goggles. The world is a crazy place kids.

Looks pretty good.

To sum up the movie:

"Pocahontas in Space."

Any questions?

I like Pocahontas, I like space. Sounds good to me:P

I read somewhere the movie was inspired by the old Tarzan stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Well maybe in decor and atmosphere, but this doesn't look anything like Tarzan story wise.

Sure, if Pocahontas was an alien and rode dragons and used rocks and dragons to fight against technology.

Then sure, its pocahontas in space.

Also, DRAGONS AND ALIEN SEX(presumably).

Plus, Dragons.

In Space.

Don't judge me monkey.

Avatar? More like Delgo: The Last Airbender, amirite?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
