I did think I could hear a faint Squeee! coming from the direction of Wales earlier on today... Hmm, so that's what it was...

Oh and ps. There is (apparently) a pdf going round t'internet of Meyer's abandoned manuscript for a companion novel to the series; this time from Edward's POV. I am reliably informed that it is genuine and is also at least as badly written as her other books...

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

There is, on Meyer's own site.
It's not a companion book. It's the first book again from Ed's POV. Basically an attempt to keep milking the series.
The manuscript was leaked (rumours say it was Patterson) which caused Meyer to suffer from Emo and she refused to keep writing the book but freely published her latest incomplete draft.

Seeing that she's probably got more money than god already, that's hardly very damaging for her.

Of course it isn't. She's just being a fool to get drama and more attention.

So these books are real?????? I thought we had just made up stuff...............you are trying to tell me that somebody wrote more than one book about Sparkly Vampires!!!! and the writing is worse than goooo... I'm writing to my MP and telling him (when he has sorted his expenses out) to get his arse in gear and ban them from these shores.

I can't believe that so many people have not heard about these books, when they've been coming out since 2005 and are so popular. I can't go anywhere in Oz without seeing a Twilight book or a poster for the movie...I envy you people.

LOL. From my mother randomly today: "Have you ever heard of Twilight?" Sarcastic laughing from me over the phone, followed by: "Why? Is someone recommending it?" "Well, blah blah blah." Me: "Okay. Don't read it. LOL."

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I know what you mean Map....it's pure evil. I have been thinking of starting a march like the zombie one in melbourne, but as the Tenescowri...we'd need a lot of hobos.

Is Rodoe available? Zing.

Yeah, I've been thinking along those lines, but, instead of a march, we organise a mass burning of Twilight books and watch the Twitards brainz melt. And put Stephenie Meyer on trial for crimes against humanity and corrupting our youth, just to be safe.

The problem would be aquiring the books Mappo.

I mean, I'm not spending money on them, just to burn them. They're not worth it.

We could steal them I suppose...

Brilliant insanity! Hey, Seguleh Second, get outta here!

"grabs keyboard"

Anyway. Great idea Mappo. And when the smoked remains of shoddy and stereotypical writing engulf the Twitards, we will give them our terms!

I want Tim Tams.
