This thread is counter-productive because it tells players what not to do. Anyways, I personally never really hide either.

I'll add for dktorode the common "baah" (variable amounts of 'a's there) and the "talk to the hand" smiley (which I curiously can't find right now).

That and the ol' bag'o'dicks, but he didn't whip it out in some time.

Bubba often posts pics, Yellow swears a lot and Acehunter uses bizarre smileys that the board doesn't recognize.

and the bag of dicks has become TOO obvious...so trying to cut down

I have many tells and hardly know anyones elses...thats just the way i roll
( can pick JA, dibs and morgy out rather successfully, but not so much tells, its more that i got used to the way they play)

On Mondays evenings, you can pretty much guarantee that M45 will make a comment about going off to watch Chuck/Heroes/24 at some point.

I used to be able to pick out Baudin fairly consistently, but I can't remember how...

When Gem isn't trying to blend in, she tends to get very argumentative/aggressive over quite small things.


That's all I can think of at the moment.

I say "somesuch" too much I generally find. I also used to do a lot of line spaces, and use the smiley compulsively.
But then, it's usually not the tells which give me away so much...

Ment seems to be allergic to capitalisation.

Post count is an iffy one to use, ive been top of post count a few times but recently and in my first game i was very close to the bottom. It changes on crcumstance. I can usually tell Grief if he basically tells people who he is and Ment when he mention ukraine but thats about it. I seem to skim over spelling mistakes (as im very bad with them myself) or id probably notice Dkt

I can usually tell Impirion by his writing style - which I guess is an extension of knowing his general speech patterns. Helps that I tend to have a good idea of when he posts as well, given that he lives 2 doors down.

Well I haven't played enough games to work out who is who...except dkt. I did try to hide, but there's usually too much going on in my head, and if I try to hide I think my posts read forced. I did avoid the...for a while, but ended up using - instead...then ~ so then I thought 'oh what's the point?'

I also try to be *ahem* down with the errm kids(?) and use the abbreviations and expressions, but really for a woman my age it looks a bit stupid ...and I generally use a lot of smileys. I also generally use proper grammar, spelling and spacing...apart from...

It was eerie how easy it was to spot JA - at the same time the qualities that make him easy to spot on occasion also makes him an excellent player.

It's always easy to spot me, just wait a couple days until ST tries to compare me to someone from a previous game and starts comparing writing styles and such. He'll get it wrong, because it'll be me. Guaranteed.

Also me and grammer have a very good relationship. He stays the hell away from me and I don't acknowledge his existence....
