Got to disagree with you on that one. As soon as Galain came back as JA, dibs constantly referred to him as JA, to cement in people's heads that he's a lying weasel.

Nice game guys, but would have preferred a proper meat and potatoes. This wasn't one, imo.

Three suggestions for mods from now on: don't give people character names any more, don't give people usernames in CF, and let's try a couple of games with CF or finders but not both.

Someone needs to type the legal jargon into the actual rules so everyone can (and will) do this.

Hmm, something along the lines of:

Role PMs cannot be quoted directly, or their specific contents hinted at beyond general role claims. The role PM cannot be used in any way to cerify a claim.

It'd be good, cause i've seen a few times people clear themselves by slipping in words from role pm so they can later say "look, RI". For example teh Ghostbusters game.

I think it could be avoided more easily however, if the Role PMs sent out were not so fanciful. Sometimes you see ones with backstory in them etc. I think it'd be better to leave the backstory in the OP, and just give people their role in the PM. Anything else will be on the thread for all to see(if the RI have a specific name etc) so cannot be used to clear people.

This is what happened in Ghostbusters, with people slipping in "Joe Schmoe" which was in every role PM for RI, and that cleared them all.

Another solution mis make all PMs different, even for same role, but that's more work.

Just post the roleless PM right below the rules on page 1 then nobody can use it. If you regulate it people can just stick in hints and not tell anyone. I never even thought about it until I saw someone bragging about drinks and drinks and drinks in the last game.

That's not what I was saying. The role PMs gave character names... so basically you knew every single character in the film was in the game, and someone would counter-reveal you if you fake-revealed.

Yeah, themed games are nice, however the theme should not affect the game, if it's meat and potatoes.

And as yellow points out, if you're playing a game with a theme to the degree of seperate names etc, it can take away from the game. Which it shouldn't.

I mean, all themes really add is something to RP about. It's not as if the games with themes are better than those without, or those with made up themes are worse than those based on books etc.

So yeah, i'd say cutting back on the amount themes affect stuff like that would be good.

In my bar fight game this was an issue. I made Bents bouncers killers and DW's were gaurds. I didn't think about the repercussions and it really screwed Dibs. So yes, I agree with all of the above. But that doesn't mean we need to not have themed gmes. The themes are what make each game original.
