awesome, I was hoping they would renew it but it was hard to say since it hadn't been announced on the schedule earlier.

I like chuck so far but are only on first season here in Denmark. My biggest problem with this show is the lenght of each episode. Why the fuck are they so short?

They're the standard length for US TV shows, aren't they? Or is that more of a 'Wish we had more' sentiment?

Sir Thursday

EDIT: also forgot to mention, when NBC announced its schedule, it transpired that they're not going to air the next season of Chuck until next Spring. Booo .

Boo for the spring thing, that's like a year wait but better than having Chuck cancelled.

Also agree with STD, most US shows take a 1 hour timeslot and end up being about 42 minutes without commercials. Very rare to go longer, can't really think of many examples of that, unless you want to count a mini-series like the BSG launch stuff.

Sometimes pilots, season premieres or finales will have longer timeslots. Still, it's unusual. Also agree with the spring being a long wait thing.

They are showing Chuck on a channel i dont normally watch.(I think it is channel with commercials). But maybe that is why i think they are short since they only last 45 minutes compared to what i normally watch that is always an hour with commercials.

Are you all sure it is same lenght as other shows? I cant be so old that i dont notice the show is without commercial breaks.

ST, apparently they didn't have slots for she show in the fall - but if another show cancels or something, Chuck is first in line to get an early slot. Personally I think this is a good thing, because it gives the writers some extra time to figure out a great storyline. I will definitely miss the show - I am addicted to the thing.

Yeah, with NBC going Jay Leno every night they're slightly squeezed in that department. I'd be surprised if it got moved forward, though I guess that depends on the timeslot of the show they decide to flunk - they're not going to put Chuck in the middle of their comedy block, for example (although it might just fit there...)

Jay Leno at 10:00 every night is one of the dumbest thing ever, imo.

Imagine how many more shows could be available without him taking up all that space.

I suspect part of the reason they are doing it is that they're feeling the pinch a little at the moment and Jay Leno is far far cheaper than a scripted alternative. Plus this gives them a fairly predictable set of ratings 5 slots per week (I can't imagine the ratings for Leno change all that much week to week). They're picking up plenty of new shows and haven't cancelled anything I love, so I don't really mind. I'd much rather they have fewer, higher quality shows than lots of crappy ones.

Sir Thursday

That's true. I don't lose out myself, but it'd be nice to see if any new shows are worth watching regularly. V on ABC comes to mind.

The only upcoming NBC one that sounds interesting to me is Day One. But that's more for the 'Shows on the Horizon' thread.

Meh, I don't care WHY they're doing it, I just find Leno particularly unfunny. I imagine he's not exactly pulling in that coveted 18-35 demographic either... one of the main reasons Conan took over the Late Show, or so I thought. I don't exactly pay very close attention to this stuff.

As long as they're bring Chuck back, NBC's done alright by me this year. Though I'm still pissed about the Journeyman cancellation... (edit: from last year, obviously)

They had a commercial for the new season during The Office last night.
Looks like it will be great, upgraded Chuck will be awesome.

Lets go January!
