Awful, awful one liners.
Summer Glau may be a good actress, but jesus, some of the crap they have her saying is horrendous.

Twas good. Summer Glau is overrated though, but since Terminators are wooden characters to begin with, she'll be fine

I thought it was good.
I'd rather watch that than T3
Plus Lena Headey is sexy as hell.

I liked tonights episode as well. There are some bad one liners, but isn't that a Terminator tradition?

Summer Glau is unbelievably hot. Lena Headley ain't bad either!
So with Terminators and resisitance fighters in the past, the Machine War is now also a Temporal War? If the writers keep things sharp, that could be very cool.
I'm looking forward to seeing the current whiny teenage John Connor morph into the badass humanity-saving Messiah of the war. With time travel, it's quite possible young John might meet old John at some point in the series.
And if they could get Arnie for a cameo, even like for 5 seconds, I would be gleeful.

What's strange is how this is an alternate timeline to the third movie, and acts like the third movie never happened. The planned 4th movie will still be a sequel to the third. THis is going ot get all jacked up.

If you watched Stargate, it isn't really all that different.
And ignoring the 3rd movie was probably a smart bet.

i really didnt think the 3rd was all that bad. the story and the movie itself were good. t2 is considered an alltime classic, so its not going to matchup with that, but the story and setup were very good. ive been waiting for the post-apocalpse terminator movies for a long time, and t3 set that up very well.
as far as the alternate universe/storyline,

Decent third episode. As there's really nothing else on TV these days and I'm a fan of the "Terminator" mythos, I'll keep watching.
One thing that niggles at me is that say they do succeed in stopping Judgment Day. No machine war means no John Connor messiah figure. Which means no Kyle Reese being sent back in time which means no father for John Connor. So really, the war and Kyle Reese being sent back in time are unavoidable. Skynet cannot be stopped in the past.
Or so my muddled line of thought goes. But with temporal vagaries in a TV show, one can never tell where they'll go with it.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see where they are headed. I've got a feeling they won't be able to stop anything either.

See, they've wiped out the timeline that T3 existed in (which is good), as John was never there to meet his future wife in 2004....and I am digging that.
I love the show so far. As to the one liners.....she's a TERMINATOR...they ain't built for witty banter, and you can tell it is on purpose because the human characters are written well. So the one liners BELONG.
Oh, and can I just say that there were two moments in Episode 3 where I can't believe they are running it at 9PM....some really risky stuff on that ep.....not that I'm complaining mind you!
Oh, and Summer Glau and Lena Headley......are GODDAMN hot!

So from ep 3, what happened to that one girl? I dont get what was so bad that happened in the chem class? It looked like the class had exploded, and there was the imprint of maybe a bra?

Implying exploding breasts
OK, I'm now watching this series.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

The blonde girl was sexually involved with a science teacher, and so someone painted a mural on the wall eluding to this, and so it their secret was beginning to unravel....so she killed herself. That was one of those parts that fried my brain.....so crazy. I thought they would wimp out and she'd be rescued. I like that the writers aren't afraid to write edgy stuff like that.
like I said, loving this show.
