whats wrong with with the t3 story though? it was fairly good.

Yeah, no, it was...but it essentially ended anything else we'd get to see...so they circumvent it so we can have an alternate timeline that plays with things a bit, and I like that.

Yeah, I like too. Gives me new and improved appreciation for the Terminator movies.

It does, and I feel it will do more yet still. It's nice to fill in the gaps, and I like that we seem to have a 4th Terminator film on the horizon which will be the humans fight against the machines when John is older and leading the resistance. Which hopefully will tie to the show. I love stuff that crosses over media like this but links up.

it didnt end anything though, we just change from pre-apocalypse to post-apocalypse. which is what everyone has been waiting for forever. theres nothing wrong with john having a wife nor with sarah conner dying, since john has to come of age in order to lead the resistance(which he clearly didnt do in T2)

the planned t4 movie, and, if i remember they were talking about a t5, would be in the movie timeline and not the show timeline. which is fine since the movie gave you closure on modern times and will be a post-apocalyptic setting

No, I have a few friends in film industry and the talk was definitely that the show and the 4th movie will try to go hand in hand. Grain of salt mind you...the people i know are producers not directly involved, but the outline for T4 was shopped by them, so...

As to the timelines...Actually, if you remove the two key people from the timeline that lead to T3, then the timeline effectively no longer exists (as it was anyways), 4th dimensionally speaking. We skip over the part of their lives where it spliced off into that timeline and moved forward in time, thus creating a brand new timeline where judgement day has yet to happen, and skynet has yet to go online.

well, the problem ive seen is that vajna and kassar sold the rights to terminator 4(and 5?) to another company and that that company was already in the preplanning stages on a post-apocalyptic flick set after t3

I do wish Lena Headey didn't look like I could break her in half. She's like a twig and not wiry. Linda Hamilton was bad ass buff in T2.

Shes tough enough to be queen of SPARTA!!!!!!

Its not her physique she was chosen for. Hot as hell though she is. Its her ability to protray a hardass.

And really, it would get annoying to watch someone do a Linda Hamilton impression for an hour a week. I say let her make the role her own.

Yes, But Linda Hamilton was ripped, and it was a realistic depiction of the fact that she had turned into a bad ass warrior lady and not just some shrill screamer, stand by your warlike man type like the Queen of Sparta.

It was also nice to have a female action hero that didn't look emaciated, like she barely ate enough to lift her fist, let alone punch someone in the face to any effect.

True enough. I can live with the actress switch. I just hope that the show stays on the air until after Arnold is no longer Governor, so maybe he'll do a cameo.

One thing that niggles at me is that say they do succeed in stopping Judgment Day. No machine war means no John Connor messiah figure. Which means no Kyle Reese being sent back in time which means no father for John Connor. So really, the war and Kyle Reese being sent back in time are unavoidable. Skynet cannot be stopped in the past....

That's not the point - the point is to stop Skynet from stopping John in the past. The machine war IS going to happen, but without John Connor - him being so central to the conflict - in theory the humans can't win.

But John and Sarah keep whining about stopping Skynet before Judgment Day. They seem unaware or regard as irrelevant the possible temporal ripples that stopping Skynet would have. Certainly John's survival is the main point but in the pilot episode, John badgers Sarah into keeping her 'promise' of stopping Judgment Day.

Just seems odd.

But fuck it. The show is about hot chicks, robots, time travel and explosions and more hot chicks. I am satisfied.

Yeah, you can't pick at the details too much or you'll ruin it for yourself. Just go with it.

New episode tonight, and I believe a new American Gladiators as well. MOnday night has gone from the worst tv night to an enjoyable, though cheesy, one.

Solid episode last night. I like the actor who now plays the main Terminator. He was in Deadwood in a couple of roles.
