I do actually dress myself. But I don't buy clothes with out her vital and very very necessary input. Unless it is a Oregon football shirt. That is all me. Also Gym shoes. Always Nike. Other then that I only draw the line on what I refuse to wear.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Most of the time, jeans and a t-shirt. Though the t-shirts are usually classic rock band shirts. My poor Lynyrd Skynyrd "Free Bird" shirt has had so much beer spilled on it.
I've a few snappy looking suits but I'm not a suit guy. They get worn at weddings and funerals.
I have more work gear than anything else.

very much jeans and t-shirt
though my t-shits are usually ironed
RE: fashion--no clue about it.
I own a few dress shirts/pants and jackets for when I I have to go somewhere and be dressed nice (theatre/New Years/etc), but I tend to stick with "light top/dark bottom" classic set up they told us in Grade 2 for taking class pictures.
generally, in life though, it's jeans, t-shirt and running shoes.
not a fan of shorts and sandals, never have been.
only jewelry i'd wear is my crucifix, wearing a watch for convenience, not for fashion sense.
In clothing I stick to bclassic brand jeans (Levis or Nevada), and nameless, nonochrome shirts, usually in darker colours. in the summer I like to go sleeveless and gota couple of those from a work clothing store.
Fashion plays 0 role in my life, I'm oblivious to subletites of clothing styles, and i look for durability and practicality first and foremost.

I just bought my first pair of actual dress shoes last year. I was taking the gf to a play in Chicago and she said a big NO to wearing my boots. Even the good ones!
I'm usually in nothing more that tshirt, jeans and boots. Thats about it. I'll get dressed up for the gf if we're going out or something but i dont like it. I dont own a suit, the ones you can buy in stores fit me weird cause america is a friggin obese society so anyone who wears xxl must be fat so we'll just make ALL our friggin clothes for fat people! and i sure as hell aint buying one custom

Were they dark brown or light brown-beige?
If they were dark I don't see how she complained.

I mostly go for informal wear, a bit more dressed than casual but nowhere near a suit on workdays. I own two suits and one was for a funeral, never been worn since.
I don't buy a lot of clothes, but a lot of what I buy is branded (although often, relatively obscure labels, especially when it comes to t-shirts, long sleeves or shirts - they're nearly always worth the money though). Seldom wear accessories, belt asides of course, but do spend a small fortune on expensive shower gels and eau-de-toilets.
Imho, 'fashion' is slightly overstated, but style on the contrary cannot get enough emphasis.

I do so love fashion...and I also love some of the funny stuff that comes out...like trouser shorts for women with suits...I almost pissed myself with laughter the first time I saw one and my mates just didn't believe me until they did see it fer themselves.
edit: I try to look put together...which makes sense cos I am really a cylon.

I went the 3rd option regarding brown belts and shoes. I honestly couldn't care less about fashion. I agree style is more important. It's just a pity I have absolutely none.
I have a couple of suits and nice-ish shirts, but mostly I'll just wear enough to get into wherever I'm going (much less important now as I rarely go out) or whatever is appropriate for the occasion. Frankly, I'm in the unfortunate position of looking like absolute shit no matter what I'm wearing or who has dressed me - yes, even stylish people have been known to admit defeat when it comes to me. I am however fairly neat, clean and well-groomed, unless I'm missing a few days shaving because I can. I don't wear cologne or aftershave of any sort, as I prefer to smell clean rather than like a manwhore.
My suits pretty much only come out for hatches, matches and dispatches. They're nice though, especially the $1200 Italian wool one. I have quite a few ties in the cupboard from back when I used to have to wear them for my IT job, back when I first joined the forums, but I almost never wear them now as I can't stand the damn things.
I vary from a shorts+tshirt to a jeans+tshirt+jacket sort, depending on the weather.
I'm always suspicious of men who are just a tad TOO fashion-conscious, or super-stylish though. Generally indicates to me either extreme gheyness, or a lack of a life or independent thought.
Cheers,

My fashion is that about 80% of my dress shirts have pearl snaps.
LoL Sombra. Thanks for the randomness of the green wearing.

With respect to current fashion, I was really gobsmacked when the whole 80s inspired stuff took off. I was a child in the 80s and I used to beg my mum for some of the more trendy stuff then. I would have killed for a perm, ra-ra skirt, off one shoulder baggy top and legwarmers when I was about 8 There was about a decade where my mum would suggest I wear "a big belt" over every top I ever wore. Since then, I have always looked back on 80s as the worst decade in fashion and been thankful that my mother denied me my fashion wishes or the photographic evidence would have been damning. However, the worst thing now is that I really like some of the 80s inspired stuff. It really does go round in circles!
While I was in the US I noticed that the same shops have different stuff than in the European stores. Like H&M, I nipped home for a weekend and they had different stuff on the shelves in Manchester compared to NYC. I must say I preferred the Euro stuff, we definitely have more style
@ Cougar - I am so laughing at the mental image of you in drainpipe trousers!

I'm a jeans and shirt kinda guy myself - too lazy to do anything inspired. My gf is the main source of my clothing's style. She won't let me buy anything that is too "embarrassing" for me (I'm starting to think it's about her, but oh well, she puts up with enough of my crap ), so my clothing is never horrible, but personally, I don't care and consequently have no clue. Besides, jeans go with everything .

Thankfully for everyone it will have to remain a mental image my love. Drainpipes are pretty much the oposite to what someone like me should wear.

I love boots too, but I almost never wear them in Japan. Boots are not superiour here, because they require time to lace on and off, and since you take your shoes off all the time when you enter homes etc, they're a pain in the butt.
