Let everyone know what your favorite RPG of all time is.

I have to go with Chrono Trigger. My mom would have to drag me out of my room when I rented that game I would get so obsessed.

As such I've only tried out a few other systems than D20 (specificaly D&D 3.5) and have nowhere near the same amount of time used.
I will say I like GURPS though, running a hard sci-fi campaign, but it's only been a year on the system compared to 6 on D&D 3.5.
I've also tried the original WoD d10 system and the new one. I liked the flow of both. As with GURPS I like the fact that I don't have to have an insane amount of books out next to me which is a big problem with D&D 3.5.
Currently trying out the Warhammer 40k Dark Heresy percentage system and it seems to be good so far, but we've only done two sessions.
The Unisystem is pretty good to, an excellent attempt for a second universal gaming system, though falls a bit short of GURPS.
Though the D20 system has shown massive flexibilty in general and If you keep things nice and simple it's very good and efficient.
Bought Rifts recently but haven't read how the system works yet and no games planned on it yet.

Chrono Trigger was awesome. I played it on my PC with a snes emulator. Even though it was some 10+ years old it still kicked ass.

My favorite RPG would probably, to use a broad term, be the Final Fantasy series. I've played FF3/4 depending upon where in the world you're from, 4/5, 7 which is probably the best game I've ever played (Not counting World of Warcraft) FF 9 (I think it was).

I wish I had a playstation so I could play more.

It really, really annoys me that the FF games don't get converted to PC.

Best turn-based RPG...ff8? Dunno; I haven't played many and haven't liked most.

Best action RPG...definitely The Witcher. Some moral ambiguity, which is absurdly rare in RPG games for some reason. Everyone has to be the chosen hero or some shit.

Hard to say for me, I have a bunch of RPG's that I love.

I've played Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for the longest amount of time

Also really like Fallout 3, Mass Effect, and KOTOR.

I'd have to go with KOTOR, I still break it out every few months to play it again. I thought some things were better on 2, especially the fighting, but overall i'd go with 1

I also loved the first Fable, not a super great game, but whatever it was just hooked me.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

My love for all things Dragon Warrior, barely puts it at 1a. over a 1b. of KOTOR 1.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Would agree with Apt on Diablo 2. So damn awesome. Sadly it's on slow comp atm, so don't play much anymore, but it is epic. Diablo 3 will hopefully be awesome, and from what I've seen well could be :D
Followed closely by Morrowind.

Yeah Diablo!!! In the same vein, Sacred 2 comes out in 2 weeks here (6 weeks in Europe) and that is similar, so I will get that,

SB- I'd agree about Fable, that was a good game that I was looking forward to when it was still known as Project Ego, so early in the development cycle lol. I think it was 6 years before it released.

There are different tabletop rpg systems, you could compare them to video game engines.
Then you can apply settings to each.

D20 is the system that uses the twenty sided die as it's central piece. The system as a seperate entity was formed after Wizards of the Coast bought D&D from TSR. That way they can apply any setting to it (D20 modern, future and D&D classic). It's also now an open liscence system.

D6 system is most commonly associated with GURPS. GURPS has it's own "world" like D20 has D&D, but it's nowhere near as closely linked, since GURPS is made to be generic (Generic Universal Role Playing System).

D10 is was the powerhorse behind Whitewolf, and like TSR (later Wizards) they're system was linked closely to a specific system, infact it was atilor made for it. World of Darkness, which comprised Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Changeling the Dreaming, Mage The Ascencion, Wraith The Oblivion, Demon The Fallen (I think).
Though Whitewolf went under and was bought by Wizards. They've remade WoD and kept it on the d10 system though there is a d20 adaptation.

The new Dark Heresy RPG from GamesWorkshop (Warhammer 40k) works on a percentile dice system.

pen and paper RPGs strike me as something too hardcore, tbh

the games forum's pretty much entirely shifted to the digital forms of entertainment.

Knoll Barrow is PnP - see how empty that is! :p

Morrowind
The Witcher
Dues Ex
Fallout 1 & 2
Arcanum
Planescape: Torment

All of these are great, and would have to have an epic battle between them if they were people before I could decided which one is truly on top. *huggles his RPG's*
