It's been interesting to see many of the ideas from that "Brain storming" week they did become actual content in the game. I am waiting for the Giant Mudcrab boss to pop in. Then I might actually get around to buying the game.

And let's face it, the Elder Scrolls are officially whatever plot mechanic the devs need to work in next. "Hey Dave, I'm not sure how we're going to make this work, any ideas?" "Eh, just have an Elder Scroll do it." :)

Holy crap that looks awesome. I've been meaning to get back into Skyrim, check out some of the mods now it's been out for a while. That trailer has definitely convinced me to do it sooner rather than later. :lol:

Only since Oblivion, really :)

Admittedly, it's about time they actually played a non-meta role in the series (meta: the games are the scrolls, hence those with CHIM (the players) being blank qualities to them; each event can turn out only a certain number of ways except the actions of the player), but their use has been a bit banal and bewildering other than some elements of their role in Skyrim.

Tentatively looking forward to this DLC. It seems like Bethesda may be living up to their word and releasing DLCs that are more like expansions. I'll be really disappointed if I don't get at least 10 SOLID hours of gameplay out of Dawnguard the first time through.

In the end, though, I can't say I'm particularly excited for it. I thought Skyrim's combat was pretty mediocre, and as such I'm much more interested in the lore/atmosphere aspect of things (I would love to visit part of Morrowind again, for example).

Storyline-wise, I doubt it will be anything special. I was incredibly disappointed in Skyrim's main story, as Alduin never came across as someone dangerous. They really needed to have him devouring souls of important people and actually destroying parts of the world to, you know, show that he's actually the world eater and not just another dragon.

Yeah, Alduin was pretty much a let-down. Not only did he not do anything, he was weak! (Granted, having him do stuff and THEN be weak would suck, and Bethesda has some sort of allergy to difficulty they can't quite shake...) I was never in trouble fighting him. He honestly just didn't deal enough damage; all he did was take a while to beat into submission. :S

I need to get back into Skyrim but don't know if this will do it. I actually never finished it, got close and then got distracted near the end. I'm not sure if I want to buy all the DLC bit by bit as it comes out, and spend over $100 total probably, or just wait until the game of the year edition is out used, so I can just buy that and get all of the DLC for about $40. The latter strategy served me well with Fallout NV, which I am now back into.

No way, what's awesome! Always wanted to see more of Jiub, was disappointed that we only got to hear about him in Oblivion. Also, on the topic of Oblivion, was anyone else disappointed that Caius Cosades never showed up? I mean, he got recalled to the Empire 1/2 way through Morrowind, so I was sure that he was going to be somewhere in Cyrodiil (such as Cloud Ruler Temple, or in the dungeons because of his Skooma problem). But nope. Major disappointment.
