Maybe cuz they just keep telling his origin story over and over, and you're stuck with the same old confused, angry, stupid hulk doing not much but surviving.

Either that, or the '70s series was so awesome that none of the newer titles can compare.

I'm gonna vote the former, not the latter.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

That was my vote as well, but I thought I would give you the option.

Planet Hulk was pretty decent though, but it was smart Hulk anyway.

American Reunion was, as expected, meh.

A few laughs, a few awesome boobs, but nowhere near as good as the first 2. And still not as good as "Wedding".
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

he gets past that point alright...oh yes he does :p
VERY refreshing.

Wow, that looks like it could go in a very interesting Mallick/David Gordon Green direction which would be fantastic, or in an Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close direction, which would be terribly cloying and tragic.

P.S. I finally saw Arrietty, it was very low key (even lower stakes than Totorro), but still extremely beautiful, interesting, and engaging. I watched the UK dub, for reference.

AVENGERS prep continued with THOR, which Mrs McLovin had not watched.

Could be a great year for fans of gangster movies, what with Gangster Squad dropping a trailer that looks really really promising to go with Lawless, which in a totally different way looks equally brilliant.

For the heck of it, had IRON MAN DVR'd for months and decided to watch that pre-AVENGERS as well.

Chris and I posted our Top Ten Greatest Films of All Time over at the site...and a sentence explaining why for each.

Have a gander if you feel so inclined. I'm curious if others have similar picks or not.

Love Actually? You crazy, boy!

I agree with you on Alien over Aliens, though.

Pretty good lists from both tbf; only Shawshank, Pulp Fiction, Alien and Raging Bull are ever likely to be in my top 10 but a whole bunch that are close. Mind you, there's far too many I haven't seen at all, particularly Citizen Kane, 12 Angry Men and Amadeus that I can see myself loving.

My top 10 changes every time I do one, though there are constants. Right now it could well be something like:

Apocalypse Now
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou
Kick-Ass
The Matrix
Pulp Fiction
LA Confidential
Belleville Rendez-Vous
Badlands
Pan's Labyrinth
Fight Club
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I had a mild episode at uni and next thing I know I'm watching Dark Shadows at harbor town cinemas...
The movie was quite terrible, very disappointing, I was hoping for more from the ole' Burton/Depp/Carter trio.

I don't know what my unconscious is trying to tell me, but I was quite pissed off with it. The movie was not worth having to walk - lucidly - all the way back to uni...

By the way, both of you forgot about Requiem for a Dream, Fear and Loathing and Enter the Void. How dare you.
If I look back, I am lost.

Watched Tinker Tailor today and thought it was very good with Oldman being as good as he was made out to be by reviews, which isnt surprising as hes awesome. Are they going to continue with the books do we know?

Also went to HMV the other day and they were sold out of Thor which is the only marvel film I havnt seen. I wanted to watch it before the Avengers but I thought fuck that and the Avengers got watched.

Saw Cabin In the Woods finally, and it was a thing of beauty. My heart was lifted.

The Raid.

some EPIC stuff in there.... a few dull moments between some smashing action scenes.

Some astonishingly brutal stuff though....

and there was a spontaneous round of applause after one particularly good fight scene :D
meh. Link was dead :(

Family film night featuring MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO.

Funny and charming, though surprisingly my daughter was initially scared of the big Totoro.

I adore that film. Miyazaki at his finest.

I had the entire Studio Ghibli collection until I let one person borrow it, then another borrowed it from that person and so on, until everyone claimed they've given it back to me already. :D
