Even though I dislike Kristen Stewart, SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN is going to TROUNCE MIRROR MIRROR (which just looks silly) at the box office. And I actually LOVE Tarsem Singh's THE FALL.

To be fair though, Mirror Mirror is clearly aiming for silly.

I think both look promising, although either one could also go horribly wrong.

The trailer for the Huntsman one was at least pretty awesome, I'm kinda stoked for it. Mirror Mirror's trailer definitely rubbed me the wrong way (though I too loved The Fall). In either case, they're both just trailers and I still plan to give them both a fair shot.

Edit: And oh yah I finally saw Drive, it was awesome. Not as violent as I'd hoped, but still pretty good, and absolutely perfect soundtrack.

Finally saw Warrior last night. That is a damn fine movie. Only one noticeable mistake (that shoulder injury would cause a doctor to stop the fight before the next round) and so, so much was true to the spirit, to the history and to the actuality of the sport. All kinds of references to current or past fighters and trainers were in the movie and most subtle enough that they would just be background coloring to viewers fresh to MMA.

Nolte was amazing and Jennifer Morrison quite good as well. But Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton make the movie. As they should, they're the main characters. Loved the Koba stuff too - that's Kurt Angle, real life Olympic gold medalist who moved over to pro wrestling.

I'd rate this movie as on par with The Fighter.

Started mt ALIEN ANTHOLOGY watch on BluRay and watched both ALIEN and ALIENS. Both films are, of course, awesome still...but I am actually BLOWN the hell away by how the original film has been transferred to the format. They REALLY did their work on it, as both the picture quality and especially the audio are simply GORGEOUS. If I didn't know better I'd have thought I was sitting in the theatre seat in 1979.

I'm a bit less excited to watch the other two films, but of course I will. I'm more excited to get to the nearly unending set of special features.

Saw TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY. The minimalist antidote to the over-the-top aerobatshittery of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL. Mrs McLovin thought it was boring, but I really liked it.

That's exciting! I was keeping my eye on this movie, now I'll have to see it.

I think Liam Neeson's transformation from Ireland's answer to Morgan Freeman into Jason Statham's biggest daft-action rival is one of the most unlikely and hilarious career trajectories in recent film.

The original is one of the BEST survival horror's ever made. No seriously, put down what you are currently doing and go watch Carpenter's original film.

The prequel just kind of rehashes the stuff that happened in the first (not as well) and doesn't tread any new ground sadly.

Even though The Grey doesn't particularly appeal to me, and I hated Taken, I would like to remind everyone of Liam Neeson's star-making turn in a little action film called Darkman. One of the greatest innocent man gets attacked by criminals and subsequently takes revenge against that gang by killing them one at a time in creative ways movies of the 90s! So much better than the Crow, and uhhhhhhh, the sequels to the Crow.

The best movie I saw all year was Hugo. It may have been the best movie I've seen in a few years. I am a huge Scorsese fan. I have almost seen every one of his films (still have to watch New York, New York and some of his other earlier ones) but this surprised me so much. I am a huge film buff so it was a great pleasure to see Scorsese delve into the silent era. If you haven't seen this please do! Make sure it is in 3D. The only movies on par with this in terms of 3D imo are Avatar and Deathly Hallows Part2. Anyone seen it?

I have been hearing only good things about HUGO.
lots of critics have it on their 2011 top Ten lists to boot.
