35%, we are talking 15% here. I agree with you, I would never have went the cinema to watch it as I knew it would be that bad. I hereby change my rating and compare it with another of its genre..

etc

there isn't a film that would get 8 out of 10 in this type of genre, maybe watchmen but that is a comic book film rather than a high fantasy type of film.

That being said It would go:

Clash of the Titans 2/10
percy jackson 3/10
the last airbender 3/10
alice in wonderland 4/10
inkheart 6/10 as I have watched it twice and I like the idea


That's an interesting list, and I think our numbers are roughly equivalent.

Percy is roughly equivalent with Clash, for me. Both are overdone mythical stories. Clash suffers from being a remake that, in my opinion, was worse, while Percy gets bonus for being new.

Haven't seen Airbender or Inkheart. Your Inkheart rating is inviting.... We'll see.

I'm more up on Alice than you, by a couple of points though:

Inkheart was a bit slow, but it was based on a very novel idea. I liked it but it could have done with a little more pace. Also I have a hard time taking Brendan Fraiser seriously.

he is the downside. he is not a good actor, he is spoofy but not in a good way. I don't know, Jack Black may have done a better job, but I am a Jack Black fan, he makes me smile

Finally saw Iron man 2. It wasn't bad. Not as good as the first, but completely watchable and mostly enjoyable. The end fight scene was pretty cool. The biggest flaw was that it's about 90% Tony Stark and 10% Iron Man. More Iron Man, please. THe other flaw is inherent to Iron Man and most superhero movies these days, all of his enemies are evil versions of himself.

I can't help but liking Brendan Fraser. His problem, I would hope, is that he's dead set on paying the mortgage, leading him to let himself be typecast as the goofy hero (in one form or another). But given the chance, like in Crash and The Quiet American, he does a rather good job of playing the serious role.

I just watched Splice. Have no idea what to make of that movie. I like the concept, but the execution and underlying themes were, well...meh.


And some of the shit that happened in that movie was just plain WTF!!?

Plus for awesome creature design though, totally how I'm going to picture Forkrul Assails from now on.


But still, WTF!!?


I give it 3 out of 10 awkward, extremely inapropriate, morally and ethically wrong interspecies sex-scenes....
Things and stuffs...and other important objects.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. i'd be more intent on story and acting. I love the quantum leap series, i love any film with time travel, Hiro in Heroes, the time travellers wife, which to say is a film to watch if you like this sort of thing, and it did have me feeling rather sad, my girlfriend weeping in my arms...

i like the way you say one of the unique movies you have ever seen.. it makes me more intrigued!

3 films I would recommend strongly. I am happy to have watched all three and the American versions are not as great...

They are all subtitled films, so if this is not your thing then so what, they are amazing!!

First one is Run Lola Run, a brilliant film that grips you from the start, in a little way it is like sliding doors, but better, if things happen this way then this would happen, if things happen that way then other things would happen. 9/10 hippy strings!!

Second one is Amorres Perros I hope I have spelled this right. This is the better version of Crash, this was out way before crash was and is just better. Crash has a massive cast with many great actors involved, Amorres Perros has little budget and no truly famous actors but it is simply superb! 8/10

Third one is Rec. This is the better version of Quarantine imo. It is based in Spain and has a documentry feel to it, it follows a reporter doing a report on the spanish fire service, things get hairy from when they are called to their first location. Great film with a superb ending!! 9/10

I agree. Nice concpet, but was poorly executed. I waited to watch Splice for half a year, and when I finally saw it, I was kinda dissapointed. The sex scenes (especially the one with the dude) ruined the movie for me. Best part was when McKay got slaughtered.

Now I'm waiting to see Buried, really want to see it. I missed in in theatres; it was only out for a week. Hopefully it wont let me down.

Also, anyone else excited for the Alien Anthology? About Time, Cause I NEED to have it.

I saw Fish Tank. It was quite depressingly real to British chav life. Also I deal with far too many people who are exactly like that. But Welsh. Which is worse...

Just saw The Social Network. A film utterly dominated by the dialogue- Fincher and the actors did get to show their skills a bit, but this is all about Sorkin's contribution. I saw it in a cinema in which quite a lot of people were clearly just there because 'zomg the facebook movie' and I think the opening scene caused a few headaches...

Not a bad thing though, Sorkin's a great writer. Plenty of good scenes, lots of zingers. Not quite sure of the point of it all but as an exercise in slick film-making it's a classy example.

Unless its just completely mindblowing (which is unlikely) in 3D, i'll just wait till it comes out.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Just watched How to Train Your Dragon. I really liked it. It is at heart a children's movie with all the classical tropes of a movie built to cater to children. However, it is also rather funny for adults, with fun action scenes, original story-telling, and is beautifully drawn. I also have to say they had very high quality voice-actors. Highly recommended.

8.5 out of 10.

Bruce Willis never fails to deliver... John Malcavhic(sp) is great in it as well,

and I always think that chick is the hottest cant remember her name... from Weeds?

Saw it and liked it. But I will say the 3D hype was overdone. Aside from the opening and closing sequences (and a few bits sprinkled between - - - dildo cannon comes to mind) the 3D just wasn't a big deal. The opening and closing sequences were awesome though; I would see the movie in 3D just for those alone (but that is my opinion).

I saw a making of Jackass 3D and Johnny Knoxville sorta downplayed it (3D) by stating it is difficult to capture their stunts (and for them to translate to 3D). He also mentioned that the cameramen are not run of the mill, unskilled guys and so they had to ease them into dealing with vomit inducing stunts.

Finally, I would like to say: Poo Cocktail Supreme < < < < defies description.
