Watched Brooklyn's Finest the other night and apart from the cinematography at times being too dark, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fantastic cast of Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes and a load of guys who were in The Wire (inc Omar !) made for a gritty cop drama that pretty much delivered on all levels. The 3 interlocking stories are tied up nicely at the end and Antoine Fuqua ( how do you pronounce his surname ?) handles the action and human interest with equal aplomb.

A very engaging study of 3 very different police officers who in the end are all too similar.

8.5 reasons good men go bad out of 10.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.

Primer is at the top of my list of mindfuck movies, along with Donnie Darko. Such a good movie.

watched quite a few films on the plane to Oz and Back. Ones that I will be buing to add to my collection are:

Despicable Me. Actually made me laugh out loud a few times, I really enjoyed this film although I did not think I would. 8 whoops out of 10

The Other Guys. Ha ha ha ha, Will Ferrel the genius, he makes me laugh all the time, yeah I knew the bad cop bad cop was coming but it didn't matter, I howled anyway! 6 batons out of 7

Predators. Er, Meh. Predator was so good with Arnie. After that none of them have been close to being good. This is the worst out of all of them. 1 plane meal out of 8

The A Team. Liam Neeson, brilliant as usual. I just didn't think I would like it, I think this alters the perception of when you actually watch it. It is so fucking awesome. "I think he is trying to fly the tank" that scene is just amazing. I really like this and hired it out from the dvd shop whilst in oz to watch again. 7 fools out of 8

Salt. okay I guess, very predictable for me. some good scenes in it but it wasn't anything to write home about. 3 out of five or 6 out of ten or 12 out of 20 take your pick.

The Tournament. I enjoyed this very much, I think I like assassin movies rergardless of how fake they can look. The dissappointment for me is Robert Carlyle, he is a priest which is fine but he doesnt have to be a whiny crying bitch. I like robert carlyle but not in this film. 27 out of 30 kills!!

Couples retreat. Romantic comedy, now I know it may not be your thing, but picture you and your mrs in the middle of no where, snuggled up on the couch with a nice bottle of wine then this film is perfect. I really enjoyed it. 8 out of 9 smooches!

The Full Monty. Amazing. 4th time of watching and i cannot help but smile and laugh. Robert Carlyle is great in this film, I don't know anyone who doesn't like it. 9 out 10 smirkes!!
Apt is the only one who reads this. Apt is nice.

Grown Ups: It was a typical Sandler movie and I'll admit to generally liking those. Funny, immature, paper-thin plot: 6 out of 10.

Toy Story 3: This was a let down. I have such very very high expectations of Pixar, and perhaps my expectations were too high for this. It basically seemed just like the other two movies. 6.0 out of 10.

12 Angry Men: Interesting movie with the dynamic of beginning and ending in the jury room of a murder trial with nothing but dialogue between the characters. Really enjoyed it. 7.5 out of 10.

Surrogates: Better than I thought it would be, with a bit of "don't know where we are taking this thing" sort of plotting. 6.5 out of 10.

COP OUT

This was VERY entertaining. everyone was cast perfectly.
Willis and Morgan worked fantastically together, and the stiffler was fucking hilarious.
Knock Knock.


I cant review this without ruining some of the best bits. Suffice to say, its the funniest and most entertaining buddy cop movies i have seen in years, Morgans insanity is straight out of the movies clips you see in 30 rock, hes batshit insane and Willis' character just laps it up and repsonses are spot on.

Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Just watched:


2012- the plot is nonexistent but the destruction is amazing. Although they end up getting a tiny bit repetitive, I think every disaster flick I see after this is going to rather... underwhelm. 3 ridiculous coincidences out of 6.

Away We Go - a rather unexpected film from Sam Mendes, about a guy and his pregnant girlfriend who go on a tour of friends and family around America to figure out where and how they want to live. It could so easily have been mawkish or sacharrine but manages to stay just sweet instead and is also very funny. Definitely worth a watch. 8 months along.

Watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one tonight. It was pretty decent, but had to unfortunately cram 3/4s of the book into this half. Part Two is going to be so awesome.

7 out of 10 for some cool scenes and general fanboyism.

Just watched this too. Really enjoyed it; I liked this book best ot of the series, and the film does a great job, imo, of translating it to the screen. I've seen some film reviews give it 3 out of 5 stars, moaning about pace etc, but honestly, it's half of a book, of
course it's not going to flow like a single story (like The Two Towers).

I think they did a grand job of cramming in a lot of detail into a small amount of screen time, and as a bit of an HP fan, it did not disappoint. I'd give it 8 out of 10, and yes, part 2 will be awesome...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Just watched a film...
There were many badasses. There were powerful people, skilled people, there were hot chicks, and there was action.

And they fucked with the wrong Mexican.
