Just watched Religulous. Probably not for the devout, but I found it amusing and I think that Bill presented some legitimate questions. Most of the "religious" people came off fairly well, which is nice. The only problem I had was Bill getting a bit preachy in the end. An atheist preaching atheism... just strikes a discordant note with me in its message.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

7th Heaven had Jessica Biel, Ashley Simpson, and others to entice Pedobears into watching it. No pretty ladies in this one.

Ah, 7th Heaven jailbait....good times. Whatever happened to Biel's blonde sister on the show? She gave me many impure thoughts, as did Biel...

So, I watched the new epic masterpiece from renowned director Rob Scnheider, of Deuce Bigalow fame, Big Stan. Wow, rarely has a film moved me as much as this one. A historic piece of cinema; or, a ridiculously amateurish comedy w/ some funny parts....

Just watching a movie on filmfour called " 9th Company". Sort of Russian version of Platoon/Full Metal Jacket, dealing with the Russian experience in Afghanistan in the 80's.
Making a pretty good point about how numerous countries have been pissing about in Afghanistan for centuries..., all of them eventually FAIL.
Not bad at all, always nice to see how similar and ultimatley futile everyone's war experience is regardless of where your from.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

Lucy? Ew.

That's even worse than the crush on whoever that blonde girl from Moonlight and Underworld that was perpetrated in the movies thread a while back.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

So.... just watched The Day the Earth Stood Still.

IT SUCKS. Horrific movie. Don't bother even hoping for super-cool special effects. Sucks at that as well. Stupid, stupid, stupid............ movie.

Just read on my home page that they're going to make a 4th Bourne movie, scheduled for release in 2011.

Reuniting Matt Damon with Paul Greengrass, apparently it's going to be set primarily in South America.

Anybody know anything else ? I thought the last film was the best, the fight choreography was immense. It will be interesting to find out who the baddies are going to be as he's pretty much wasted everybody who pissed him off !

That new Underworld movie actually looks rather cool. Who would've thought?

I just went to see Let The Right One In, a Swedish vampire movie. It was pretty good in comparison to mainstream movies but not as mindblowingly brilliant as the reviews I have read suggested. Kind of a darker, more sophisticated version of Twilight in terms of basic storyline, but don't let that put you off. It has it's "European film" moments with lots of lingering shots of snowscapes and 12 year old nudity. All the horror happens out of shot which kind of makes it more creepy. All in all, I recommend it and you don't notice traditional child actor annoyingness, especially the girl. The subtitles might have stopped me from spotting that though... Any resident Swedes seen it?

I watched Across the Universe last night. I absolutely loved this movie. I'm a huge Beatles fan, and if you are too, give it a try. The "plot" isn't the greatest. But, the absolute jamming on all music was fantastic. Couldn't stop myself from singing along with it. There's a real trippy scene in it that lasts about 10 minutes, and I bet would be super-effective to someone on hallucinogenic material. I, however, was merely drunk and somewhat bewildered by the trippiness.

MONSTERS VS ALIENS.

Silly good fun. Amazed at how many jokes are thrown in that the target child audience is just not going to get.

I am, however, disappointed that Dr Roach wasn't more like Hugh Laurie voicing an animated Dr House with super roach powers.

- Abyss, ...c'mon, admit it, that would have been even more awesome...

Yeah, I noticed that. I saw the same thing in the Shrek films. Lots of "adult" jokes that children will never get until they find the dusty old DVD 10 years down the track and watch the film again.
