If we're talking westerns, i have to ref 'Tombstone'. Brilliant.

And tho' not classics by any means, 'Young Guns' I and II are a hell of a lot of fun.

- Abyss, used to watch Bonanza reruns.

Saw "House of Flying Daggers" last night. Ravishing to look at (that that's not just Zhang Ziyi), cool plot twists (although guessable if you want to make the effort) but still somehow hollow. I enjoyed Zhang Yimou's "Hero" far more (the "Rashomon" type structure did it for me). "House of Flying Daggers" could have done with a big flashback. To be honest I think Ang Lee made a better job of creating wuxia films that play to a western audience, maybe that because he's originally from Taiwan and hence more infected by western culture. The Chinese say that the rest of the world doesn't/can't understand their culture, but it think that the corallary may also be true.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

BAD, that was a cute movie, esp. when KR cooks dinner for his kids and it's spagheti O's w/crushed crackers. I haven't been to the theater to see anything since HP played, however, I'm waiting for "Delovely," to come out.

I liked the montage song the best. Always fade out in a montage!

"Chronicles of Riddick" was a decent enough B action movie. Nothing special.

I watched Francis Ford Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (whew, that's a title) last weekend. I have to write a paper comparing the film with the actual Dracula text. It was a decent enough film but it really missed the main point of the text. The movie was really "Beauty and the Beast" dressed up in Dracula clothing.

Looks like I will be going to see it. And yeah Rodeo it's called Hero.

@Loose

I thought Starsky and Hutch was a repectable different take on the original guys and I just loved the "Do it! Do it!" scene Posted Image.

I saw "Sky Captain And The Extremely Long Title." I loved the movie. A great homage to the serial films of the '30's and 40's. I hope they make a series of films out of it. Posted Image

And Gywneth Paltrow stirs my loins! Ha!

Just saw 'Dogville'. 'Dogsbreakfast' would be better title. Possibly 'Dogsass'.

It's three hours long. After 45min, I had to stop. And watch 'Harold and Kumar go to White Castle' just to purge the agony.

And now I'm hungry. And giggle a lot at 'Doogie Howser' reruns.

- Abyss, wants 36 sliders, six fries and six diet cokes NOW dammit.

Last Exile is f'n great. Excellent cliffhangers.

Underworld... bleech. One of the most uninspired and derivative pieces of **** I've ever seen. Not a single unique idea, and it was full of complete nonsense. Why on earth do we need a sequel?

Nope, haven't seen that one yet!

Last film I saw in theaters was the Manchurian Candidate. Solid film but the original is better.

I watched what is quite possibly the worst and most disgusting movie I have ever seen on New Years Eve. It was about 3AM and everyone was absolutely snokered and we turned on the TV and by some evil turn of fortune found Kondom des Grauens (Killer Condom). It's a 1996 German production with subtitles, documenting the efforts of NYPD Detective Luigi Mackeroni to find the source of penis-devouring condoms ravaging the guests of the Hotel Quickie. I passed out less than half an hour through, for which I'm eternally grateful. Strangely enough, the women in the group found the movie more amusing than the guys! Posted Image

@Rallick, you didn't like The Village? *shakes head* I thought it was a great movie myself, and completely made up for the disappointments from Signs. Probably one of the best movies I've seen this year.
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.
