Saw the last James Bond (Die Another Day) a couple of days ago...jeez, was that a crappy movie. When JB is riding down that tidal wave slaloming around big chunks of ice :eek3: I dunno how they managed to produce one bad Bond movie after another, though they are still blockbusters (heaven knows why). Pierce Brosnans career as Bond started off so well with Goldeneye, one of my favourite JB's of all, and then it just went from bad to worse... Any thoughts?

Seems like I gotta check out that Doom trailer, even though I'm pretty sceptical about the end result. :)

Caught the flick "The 40-Year Old Virgin" last night. So raunchy, so funny. Best comedy I've seen this year. I was rolling out of my seat laughing so hard! :)

yeah, i felt it was over rated, but then my friends had gone on about it for ages. felt jennifer connely pushed the bout out a bit in that role(wow!) wasnt expecting that. first time i watched it was with my missus and i was like "i swear i didnt know that was gonna happen!!"

the imagery and the directing were very accomplished, but the story felt to forced and over the top to have any true affect. but im a cynic.

I watched Aliens versus Predator last night on DVD. Doesn't live up to any of the Alien movies (though perhaps Ressurection is an exception) however it was entertaining enough.

Watched Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 last week (birthday presents from Mezla)

They are still just as good as ever. I love those films.

Saw "PULSE: A STOMP Odyssey" this weekend at the local IMAX theater. I could watch anything IMAX (can't wait for Harry Potter 4 to come out in IMAX), and STOMP is just brilliant. Saw them live last time I went to New York...
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

no way man! lets break this down :1. you've got voodo 2. you've got the best opening sequence in any bond film (the funeral procession in new orleans) 3. moore is the best bond purely because he delivers the cheesiest lines most convincingly (what bond should be judged on) 4. you've go that guy who keeps coming up from the grave, gets shot, then comes back up again 5. jayne seymour is by faaar the hottest bond girl ever, man she is too damn fine

well?

i'll grant you that jane looked uber fit in that movie, but it wasnt the best bond. not by far. Licence to kill was the bond of the novels, harsh and dangerous. I was never a fan of the moore one liners, and the over the top eighties dress and style predominant in his films.

Look, best Bond film has to be one of the Sean Connery movies. It's like International Law or something. I enjoyed Pierce Brosnan, and Bolton, and Moore but Connery is the MAN. So cease this bickering.

I do think Licence to Kill came close to the Bond of the novels but really, none of them get down to the grit of the books.

My personal fave is actually Goldeneye... dunno, perhaps I am a bit biased because I spent ages shooting the crap out of the bad guys in the N64 game (one of the greatest FPS to ever be released imo).

I also just watched AvP. Starts off pretty well but then goes down fast. Entertaining rubbish but still rubbish :)
