I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I enjoyed it from when I remember watching it. Sure there was cheesiness - FREEEEEEEDOM! (didn't they pull his poop plumping out through is butt hole or something?). And I don't know how it lands as far as 'accurately' portraying history and certain sterotypes. But overall, from what I remember, I enjoyed it.

Turn of your historical knowledge for Braveheart, just watch it as a spectacle.

Kirk's cock appears yes but it's a quick fly by blurry glimpse. You get a much better look at his wife boobies for some bizarre reason

What? Braveheart is awesome. Sure it has little to do with history but it's Mel Gibson in his prime.

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOM!!!

I just remember the female lead was a smoke show. Who what the actress and what ever happened to her. She's probably kind of old by now, huh?

Who says they don't like Braveheart? Great film. Looking forward to watching Outlaw King as well at some point.

I wonder if there's a way to express you think an actress is beautiful without some junior high boys club "it's gross that women age" jackoffery infecting it like a septic wound.

I think there's a legitimate weird factor in being attracted to an actor/character in a film that ages. The actor continues to age but a version of then is locked in time and the audiences memories.

Agree. No offense meant by mentioning her age, just haven't seen her in anything since and don't know what became of her. I probably wouldn't recognize her if she appeared in something today.

Also, it would be refreshing if the scolding finger waging were consistent and was applied without bias or playing the middle school cafeteria judgmental politics - See jokes made about Sarah Jessica Parker and a disliking for Charlize Theron and the sound of crickets from the peanut gallery in response to those slights.

Well if you're actually interested allow me to mention a website called IMDB and another one called Wikipedia, they have plenty of information on these things.

But for the lazy: the actress who played the French Queen is Sophie Marceau and she has been in a bunch of stuff...
The actress who played his wife, Murron, is called Catherine McCormack and she has also been in a bunch of things.

That took me about a minute to put together... :p

I think my reading of your first post was accurate, and Apt's separate point is a retrofit. I also think the 'peanut gallery' thing is off base, it's not you vs. the board (or you vs. anyone, or anyone vs. you, really), it's just a bunch of individuals interacting. Sometimes congenially and sometimes not. I hate to say it, but that hearkens back yet again to that #MeToo hypocrisy board exposé you were conducting a couple months back, where you had this broadbrush view of "the board".

In terms of consistency, I can't disagree with you on that as an ideal. The SJP thing is a legacy, and I may have expressed my distaste early on but I haven't consistently, that's true. Am I protecting myself from being considered a wet blanket more than I already am? Probably so. And I have personally been cruel about individual celebrities' looks too -- I recall a post where I was pretty harsh about Eddie Redmayne's looks, and Tiste Simeon called me out on it. He was probably right to do so. I don't know that mocking individual public figures' looks is the same as blithely and bro-ily dismissing women who've aged out of your masturbatory fantasies -- and I probably won't ever chide someone from calling Mitch McConnell a turtle -- but it's not the kindest thing to do either. As far as Charlize goes, iirc Tiste also called BK out on that (though for what it's worth, BK explained further down it was a reply to a specific question, unrelated to the general disinterest in her as an actress he expressed earlier).

Anyway, I'm not trying to sterilize the board from sex or attractiveness talk, or even crass humor. I just saw that gross ass post about the actress from Braveheart while I was eating breakfast, and it stood out for its particularly gratuitous gross assedness. I'll do some self-reflection on whether I target you, a relative newbie, where I let others slide (I mean it, I will, though I can't speak for the 'peanut gallery'), but I hope you do some self-reflection on whether you can express yourself -- even without wholly sacrificing the edgelordy humor you favor -- without participating in or contributing to toxic perspectives.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

huh, I didn't remember her name (Sophia Marceau you say?), so I couldn't even have looked her up. Posted Image

Clicked the link. Don't recognize any of those projects after Braveheart (or prior), never seen any of them. She was hot to trot in Braveheart though, hubba hubba.

[EDIT] I do recognize the James Bond flick 'World is not Enough'. Never have seen it though. Piers Brosnon as Bond never gave a try. They any good?

Oh yeah. I totally forgot you can do that. Seriously. I was out drinking last night so the brain wasn't firing like it should. But yeah, I've done that in the past, I just totally brain farted that that is a feature of IMDB in my hung over state. Thanks for the tips on how to use IMDB and Wikipedia though. Very helpful.

For my money Goldeneye is probably one of the top 5 Bond films with ease.

Sadly a bunch of later Brosnan films are let down by unutterably vile CGI that looked crap at point of release (as in clearly fake and looked about 15 plus years behind what was then up to date technology)
meh. Link was dead :(

Thanks for the lead on GoldenEye. I'm looking for a movie to watch. I'll keep an 'eye' out for it. < < < < < < see what I did there? Posted Image
