From a website detailing the meaning of the Knight of Cups. I imagine its some kind of philosphical treatise via film on this type of subject matter:

Quote

The Knight of Cups is seen as a young knight, riding along on his white horse, holding a cup as if he is a messenger of some type. Unlike the Knight of Wands or the Knight of Swords, the Knight of Cups is not charging along but rather his horse moves slowly forward, giving an impression of calmness and peace. The horse represents power, energy, and drive, and of course the colour white is a symbol of purity, spirituality, and light. The Knight wears a cloak covered with images of fish, the symbol of the spirit, consciousness and creativity. His helmet and feet are winged, a symbol of an active and creative imagination.

Upright Knight of Cups Tarot Card Meanings
The Knight of Cups is the most feminine of the Knights; although that does not mean that he is any less of a Knight. It simply implies that he is in touch with his intuition and emotions, and he uses them for his own good during his quests of romance and seduction. He is charming and attractive to others, regardless of their sex, while still expressing the romantic, poetic view of life in his unique way. He may be in love with love itself. This Knight also looks to his emotions to provide a map for his life direction. He is someone who is ruled by his heart rather than his head. When faced with a decision, he will always go with what his heart tells him, whether it is logical or not. Decisions will be made without much thought and instead they are made drawing upon inner direction, with the experience of warmth, friendliness, love and the need to share these qualities with everyone.

As with all Court Cards, the Knight of Cups can manifest as an event, a person in your life, or as a part of yourself.

The Knight of the Cups often appears as a messenger, an invitation or the arrival of someone or something with an emotional benefit. He offers an interesting invitation, which will result in an emotional experience that will bring high energy and lift you to an exhilarating state as new situations appear from nowhere. In addition to the physical sources of information, the Knight of Cups can also represent wisdom that comes from your dreams and that helps you to surmount life’s obstacles.

The Knight of Cups represents the undertaking of the creative adventure hinted at in the Page of Cups. Whereas the Page encounters the mystical fish out of the golden cup and is thus initially inspired with creativity, the Knight has already encountered his inspiration and is about to undertake the journey of imagination and creativity to which the unconscious has impelled him. If you are about to start a new creative project, direct your imagination into the ‘real’ world. True imagination feeds on ‘action’ thus if you do nothing with your dreams they will remain vague and unrelated to the rest of your life. The Knight of Cups brings a warning about getting too caught up in fantasy and the romanticism of life. Fantasy excites but it lacks any real meaning as you deny your basic commitment to the world and your imagination produces nothing.

Be open to exploring your passions and your grand ideas at this time. You may find that you have been drawn to a particular passion or hobby and now is the time to start turning into ‘something’. You do not need to go at a cracking pace but it is important to balance your ideas with action and ensure that you are taking proactive steps to achieve your goals and ambitions.

But then there's this:

Quote

Reversed Knight of Cups Tarot Card Meanings
The Knight of Cups reversed allows his emotions to control his life too much. He may be moody, jealous or emotional to the point of incapacity. He may jump to conclusions before getting all the facts. If this card shows up reversed, either look at yourself and at how you are acting, or realise that the person involved may be acting from his emotions rather than from any form of logic. The Knight of Cups reversed indicates a situation which was initially incredibly appealing, romantic and exciting but which later turns out to be something very different, and one walks away feeling quite disappointed. It is as though you are wearing the rose-coloured glasses, or going through the honeymoon period, only to come out realising that the situation is quite different to what you thought.

Looks frikkin great.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Once there was a young prince whose father, the king of the East, sent him down into Egypt to find a pearl. But when the prince arrived, the people poured him a cup. Drinking it, he forgot he was the son of a king, forgot about the pearl and fell into a deep sleep.

See that...plus this cast!!

U forgot this part:

So Star Trek 3 will be directed by Justin Lin.

After the 3rd and 4th F&F film I'd have been baffled and annoyed by this decision but after five and six I can only say FUCK YEAH! I mean it's a completely different kettle of fish obviously but he's a director who's very much learned on the job over the last few years and I'm genuinely interested to see what he can do in a new playpark.

Yeah, Lin is a great choice! It should make for a slightly different ST movie.

Sounds like they're definitely going all in on the action. Space opera no more.

Lin isn't JUST known for action...his first major film is a small indie movie (BETTER LUCK TOMORROW) which is awesome. His forte is about the ensemble pieces and making all the character parts distinctive while still aparty to the general whole. He's great at action, but I would not say it's all he's known for, or that we ought to worry that ST3 will just be an action-fest.

I don't see how having lots of action is antithetical to space opera anyway. It's not as if the first two films were lacking in it.

Lin is also known for directing several episodes of Community, including the legendary "Modern Warfare". And his current project is directing the first two episodes of the next season of True Detective.

I didn't say it was anything to worry about, just the direction it will go in. Think about it, it'll either be more action, less action, or the same amount of action. I think it'll be more action cuz popcorn and splosions and summer and the chinese.

Sorry. Should have said well-scripted space opera that makes sense.

Again, not against action. Just give me a story that isn't full of more holes than my wife's diaphragm to go along with it.

Let's be fair - the last two Fast and Furious films were both much less full of plot holes and much more respectful to the mythos of their own franchise than the last two Star Trek films (and in fact were tbqh better films in every way).

Although Orci is still involved with the script which may be a bad sign, it isn't Abrams and Lindelof which gives me hope.

Interesting take on The Interview (which I do plan to see eventually because I like the people involved), with zero interest in rehashing all the Sony hubbub.
http://www.theatlant...ew-sony/383885/

I can't argue with the final sentiment: “The day will soon come when North Koreans are finally free, and liberated concentration camp survivors will have to learn that the world was more interested in the oddities of the oppressors than the torment of the oppressed.”
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

If you can list me a film Space opera that is airtight or even close to airtight plot/scriptwise...I'll be impressed.

:)

Hint: None of the previous 12 Star Trek movies qualify under that banner.

Entourage trailer looks great, just finished a rewatch of the entire series there a few weeks ago.

As for a Rome film, well yes, it would be ace, but, where would they go with the story, would the actors want to come back, would they be able to, would recasting work as well?

That's my point!!! The ST reboots have been flashy eye candy whose stories don't really hold up under scrutiny. At least the F&F movies know their core audience. Again, I don't REALLY care that the ST movies are being redesigned as an action franchise (the sad attempts to do this with the TNG movies are so fucking hilarious). Its fine to me. But sometimes I think the producers would rather throw in a shitty easter egg than write great drama.

QT, airtight is certainly tough to come by, but can we at least surpass "laughably illogical"?

EDIT: THE LAST STARFIGHTER is a perfect space opera.
