It was CGI. The studio behind the new Mission Impossible wouldn't allow him to cut his mustache so they literally had to CG over it on JL.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Watched a few things:
Posted ImageBlockers: Kinda funny, kinda sweet, kinda overly goofy all at the same time. Liked it but didn't love it. Game performances & more sex-positive than you'd expect though.

Happy Death Day: when it's cheeky it's really fun (several lol moments throughout), when it's a slasher it's pretty tame (and it's PG-13), so a mixed bag.

Ready Player One: Just awful. Absolutely inert for its entire 2+ hours. I'm fairly positive on the book, despite its prose issues, but this was much much worse imo.

Spoiler

2 out of 5 disturbingly long right legs. And one of those points is for the fun of spotting as many pop culture references as possible, which was much more fun than the plot.

Nathan Fillion made an Uncharted Mini-movie because he's awesome.

I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Whilst I would love to see an uncharted movie (I think it has great potential in the Indiana Jones vein) and Nathan does look like him, I'm the whole thing was a tad too hammy for my liking. It worked for the mummy franchise I guess but Brendan Fraser is better at it than Fillion.
Tightness it up a bit and you could have something a little less Sahara flop and a little more national treasure win (box office wise)

Also on the uncharted front.
A man getting smashed in the face by someone wearing brass knuckles is borderline dead, he's not cracking wise

You're really going to bring the realistic depiction of the amount of punishment a person can take (especially blows to the head) before death/permanent damage/unconsciousness into a movie thread???

:p

Not really, but it's been discussed before.
At least in the like of atomic blonde she's clearly beat to shit and fucked.
Nathan gets repeadelty smashed in the face and is barely marked and laughing it off.

I have to agree with Sombra. Uncharted does not pretend to be realistic. It's a modern take on Indiana Jones with a roguish treasure Hunter who spouts one liners while he murders lots of one dimensional mooks.

It's 80s action movie logic.

You never saw indy taking the kind of beating handed out there when drake was tied to the chair.
I like the idea of an uncharted film in the vein of the Indiana Jones TRILOGY but what was offered there was too much cartoon hamming for what *I think* would make for a good big screen. The light hearted tone that Brendan Fraser nails in the first mummy film, I don't think Fillon has that quite right and as a result the beating he takes and his slight facial bruising and complete lack of any seeming physical impact on him just made it a bit too frivolous for me. Had the guy just roughed him up with a few digs to the body and head and we saw a somewhat groggy one liner being spat back and then drake having to shake it off a bit when he's searching the office it would have made for much better viewing.
Not the 'Haha, my face is clearly made of stone your brass knuckles were clearly made of goose down!' that we got

Shall we also get into the techniques of shooting? And how your ethics and importance to the story affect your aim at critical times?

I'm a pretty average shooter at my work, but I dead set guarantee you that I would have killed pretty much every action hero ever in less than 10 seconds if I was a mook with an automatic rifle within about 10-300m of them. Hell, even a semi-auto or a bolt-action.

So you can take your incremental realism and stick it. Either go for as realistic as possible or just forget about it altogether and switch your brain off.
None of this "oh we're going for realism here, but not in the next 4 scenes, but all of a sudden we're quoting real science here ..." etc.

Nyah. :p

Yes yes
Let's watch the latest attempts of Hollywood to tell exactly what happens in the upcoming movies in a 2 minute short so we don't have to bother watching the film
