Yep, Lee Pace was great. They did a terrific job of making him genuinely dangerous at the raiding of Knowhere, as well as showing how Thanos sits back, letting others be lightning rods.

She was kick ass.

And, not that it's relevant to the plot, pretty hot.

Heartily seconded. Saw it last night, it's beautiful. I predict best picture and director noms.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

It's lazy as fuck, is what it is. Twelve years to film? Only a short burst of filming a year!? It's the Duke Nukem Forever of movies, that's what.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Anchorman 2. The fuck....was that?

I knew it wouldn't/couldn't be as good as the first and I went in with loooooow expectations.

The first 45 minutes was exactly what I'd expected. Some chuckles and funny bits, but little of the magic and chemistry that made the first great because, of course, they tried to overdo it.

Then we get to where Ron loses his sight and we go off the rails into a clusterfuck of over the top unfunny shit.

4.5 let's do the same skits/jokes, only BIGGER AND LOUDER out of 10.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

DVD'd several movies:

SIDE EFFECTS - not at all what I thought it was going to be. And that was a good thing.

SNAKES ON A PLANE - because SHARKNADO 2 put us in the mood.

Also finally watched AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE AND TIME which if you haven't seen and have any love for Dr Who, you should check out.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I watched The Lego Movie last night. Three words: Everything is awesome!

It also reminded me to ask why American's call Lego "legos" .... and what do Canadians call multiple blocks of Lego, or other folks for that matter? We Europeans say "I am playing with my Lego" to refer to the act of playing with multiple Lego items.

Because there are more than one.

@ Slow Ben: ANCHORMAN 2 was terrible. I fell asleep during it. Honestly, the marketing for that thing was funnier than the actual product.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Indeed, there are many sheeps.

Just got back from Expendales 3 and I must say that was my least fav of the 3. It fell way short of the badassness of 1&2 for me. Wtf was up with the cheap cgi vehicles this go around? I will say that both Antonio and Mel were the best parts of 3. I was sad not seeing Willis or Norris this time.

Haven't seen these movies, but I did hear that Bruce Willis was apparently being a douche and wanted over one million a day.

Watched Dallas Buyers Club the other day. Man, McConnaughey is fucking great. Between this, Mud, and True Detective, I'm definitely going to be following his career from here on out. Jared Leto was also great (and unrecognizable; didn't know who it was until I looked it up on imdb partway through the movie). I feel like Jennifer Garner really weighed the movie down though; her performance left a lot to be desired.

I think it was Kevin Smith after shooting COP OUT who said somehting like “I want to thank everyone who worked on the film, except for Bruce Willis, who is a f*cking dick.” and
“It was difficult. I’ve never been involved in a situation like that where, one component is not in the box at all. It was f*ckin’ soul crushing. I mean, a lot of people are gonna be like, ‘Oh, you’re just trying to blame the movie on him.’ No, but I had no f*cking help from this dude whatsoever.”

All of which jives with the rumours I'd always heard that he was a jerk. Which kind of sucks, but what are you gonna do.

I think it's just using Asimov's laws, but it's an original story as both writers are Spanish and unknown.

I don't think it's Asimov's laws per se- the first one matches, but the crux of the movie seems to be about the robots improving themselves and there's nothing in Asimov's laws about that.

It is very clearly inspired by I, Robot though. Even, or perhaps especially, a film.
