It just doesn't appeal at all, to be honest. There's no hook into the movie, nothing that makes you think "ooh, I'd like to go see that", just a load of very epic-looking scenes and fancy CGI. That's not enough to grab people's attention.

That, and there is only so far I am willing to go to shut off my brain during a movie. I've never been able to get passed the fact that these guys (ancient peoples) should be hairy, 5 feet to 5 foot 6, probably slightly hunch backed, severly scared, and probably have a few layers of fat on them.
Instead they're 6 feet tall, 6 packs, perfect teeth, waxed and baby oiled pretty boys.
For once I'd like to see a movie about ancient times where they look like ancient people. (Although the height thing is hard to do.)
Instead we get ridiculous CGI fests, with models and whatever animals they think look cool.

I saw two movies this weekend. Each was one was the total opposite of the other.
"10 000 BC" was epic. So epic is was beyond stupid. It gloried and reveled in how stupid it was. From the shitty CGI to the overblown music score to the wooden acting, it was all that's wrong with big Hollywood movie. So of course I paid money to see it and helped make it a success. I'm a terrible person. But not as terrible as the movie is.
I also saw "In Bruges." Absolutely fantastic film. One of the best flicks I've seen in awhile. Numerous laugh-out-loud moments along with moments of pure tension. I highly recommend it.

Ouch, Rodeo, too bad you wasted cash on BC.
I just watched The Mist. It was surprisingly good. Definitely one of the better King screen adaptations (along with 1408). Total bummer of an ending, though. Tragic...right out of the tragedy playbook.
Awesome creature effects and good actors make the film. Even Punisher..erm, Tom Jane, is good. The psycho bible-thumper ftw.

just watched also. Great Movie. Loved every second of it.
But the ending could have been less predictable. I new that shit was going to happen. But it was so eerie. the way he's just howling. Love it!

Watched "The Spiderwick Chronicles" this weekend because there was this huge snowstorm and I did NOT want to see Fool's Gold or some such.
It wasn't bad at all! One of the better kids fantasy movies out there actually.

Anyone know if they have put back the date of the release of the new Batman movie?

@Tiste - Why? Ledger? I believe all his scenes were finished. From everything I've heard it's a mid-July release.

The movie was finished shooting. The cast had already all moved on to other projects, Hedger included, when he died.
They were editing and doing special effects shots.

I dunno, I guess people might have done it for respect to him (sometimes they do that) but I guess if it was all done, why would they? Cheers.

Watched Lions for Lambs yesterday.
One of the best movies I have seen lately. An argument between professor and Todd is very good and many points he(prof) has made in it are just too true. I usually prefer action movies to philosophical ones but this one is superb.
Didn't like The Mist.
At all.
The ending is so lame.
Unbelievable.
