the moment right close to the start when he's looking through the school group photos he's making, there's that smear on one looking like the profile of a face - then she turns to look at him - MAN! goosebump memory.

the other evening I was at the pub with some buds and was talking about, among others, Ju-on, and in a pub filled with people and music, I got goosebumps heads to toes even talking about some scenes. you've got to call that a masterpiece.

"No Country for Old Men" won the Oscar for best picture tonight. I loved that movie.

Still haven't seen Cloverfield.

Seriously? It won the oscar? Bah... It really wasn't that good.

EDIT: It won 4 oscars... I get why the supporting role won, I guess the adaption of a screenplay was deserved aswell, maybe even the directors prize but I seriosly don't understand the best picture one. What about Transformers? :D

Transformers FTW.

Hot girl, the camera consistenly is drawn to breasts (we had fun pointing that out last night, coincidentally), the graphics are fucking amazing, and it has Optimus Prime.

I watched Vantage Point this past weekend... clicky for the review...

I had no complaints - its an unpretentious popcorn movie that is fun to see so long as you don't start, you know, intellectualizing/ trying to spot plot holes.

Saw Be Kind Rewind the other day.

It was good. Not great, but good. Let down by a weak ending and the storyline in general. If they'd have focussed lots more time on the making of the movies, it would have been brilliant. As it was, they only spent about 20/30mins on it, and the rest on a rubbish story about a fat piano player and saving a crap old building. But still 7/10, as the middle made me laugh lots.

I disagree with this. Not even good for a popcorn flick.

Easily 1/3rd of the movie, up to maybe a half of it it's just re-filmed stuff we have already seen. Now, this could be a good idea in theory, and worked for maybe the first 2 people. After that, it was boring and left me wondering when they were going to move on already. The last 15-20 minutes or so is original stuff, and not even good original stuff.

The movie also left 2 glaring things that just pissed off, not plot holes per se, but places where my suspension of disbelief snapped.

@Hume--yeah the movie had some slow parts, but it was so damn tense!

As I said, don't try to spot plot holes; keep your brain outside the theater, then get swept away (you have to try a bit). Then you'll like it.

Normally I'd agree with that, but even with my brain shut off, it wasn't very good. Normally I enjoy me my mindless action flicks, but this one missed the mark.

Just watched Simone (s1m0ne) on channel film four. It was a much much better movie than I was expecting and I found myself laughing quite a bit.

For the fans, the first SG-1 movie, Ark Of Truth, is now available for erm... 'purchase' :p

Just watched it, and a worthy ending of the Ori storyline imo :p

Watched Anger management and Night at the Museum tonight. Anger was okay for an Adam Sandler film. Museum was actually very good for a Ben Stiller film.

Normally I don't like the films they make, they're often just too bad or lame to appeal to my sense of humor. I was pleasantly surprised and the girl was all "next time you can pick the movies".

Do you think she'll be surprised when i put ANAL MONSTER 7 on the dvd next week? :p

I'm rather guiltily looking forward to "10 000 BC." It looks absolutely idiotic but I'm in the mood for a massively epic film, regardless of quality.

I'm thinking mostly really stupid, in the vein of Apocalypto. Hoping to be proved wrong though.

Odeon boycotted Rambo because they're stingy bastids, so I saw Semi-Pro yesterday, for free thanks to cinema-working friend. It was amusing, is the way of all Will Ferrell films, and I was chuckling most of the way through, but nothing too spectacular.

So I tried to watch "There Will Be Blood" last night, but I fell asleep again. Second time in a row that's happened with that movie, and I wasn't drunk either time. The movie's interesting, and shot really well, but for some reason it just puts me to sleep. I usually like Anderson's stuff, excluding Punch Drunk Love, that is.

I did like "August Rush." --- I'm a sucker for musical prodigies.

And "Michael Clayton" was decent but not spectacular.
