Last film I saw was Jumper. Wins "Biggest Disappointment" of the year. Though I wasn't surprised that Hayden Christiansen sucked all the life out of it. It was a shame because I loved the films I had seen before it (Sweeny Todd, Cloverfield and No Country for Old Men) But a run of good films can't last forever...

Apparently the Billy Elliott kid was ok in it though. The advert looked so awful I'm not gonna bother to watch it. Except the fights, they looked good :p

The Darjeeling Limited is a good movie. I still consider The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou the best movie made by Wes Anderson at this time, but it's a good movie.

Half Nelson was also good, but it skeeved the heck out of me. Layer Cake was straight up awesome.

I'm iffy on going to see "Semi-Pro", at first I was interested but I'm worried Will Ferrell has almost played out the whole "idiot" role. :p

A group of my friends went to see it last night. None of them were that impressed. I mean he hasn't done a film as good as Anchorman, let's be honest, even though Talladega Nights, Blades of Glory et al. were good...

@Brood - yeah he was good, but Christiansen sucked the life out of it...

I recently bought the Original Star Wars trilogy seeing as how I hadn't seen the originals in god knows how long, and the prequels while entertaining left my inner nerd with enough bile to drown 1 billion kittens.
Anyway, the few problems one has with the "remastered" Originals is all the strange modifications. I'm not against adding scenery and such, like on the approach to Cloud City and better attack sequences (as long as they remain balanced). What I don't like are the story changes, not the ones that add, but that erase and replace. I know you've all heard this rant a million times.
I want to locate my original cassetes now.
To bring about why I'm mentioning this, as we all know at the end of Return of the Jedi, Sebastian Shaw (the guy who played Anakin) is replaced in spirit form by Christiansen. Now had Anakin never been there it wouldn't be that much of a problem, but imagine the sheer slap in the face it was to Sebastian Shaw to get replaced by that emo pansy. While I enjoyed Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan I still would have hated him replacing Sir Alec Guiness. And let's be fair everyone prefered prequel Obiwan to Prequel Anakin. So if we would not have tolerated that why on Earth dod most people tolerate this?
At the very least Christiansen has the good grace to look embarassed about being there, and well he should.

The first time I saw that, DW, I screamed "WHAT?????" Very loudly, paused it, watched it again. Rewound. Repeated a few times. Broke down weeping in a messy pile on the floor. What the HELL was Lucas thinking???
And here, I thought I was over this. Thanks DW, you just opened an old trauma again... *runs away crying*

In other news, I saw "Children of Men" for the first time today. I thought it was awesome. I just love Post-Apocalyptic movies like that.
I saw "Gangster No. 1" last night. A very brutal and exciting pre-cursor to Lock Stock, Snatch et al. Paul Bettany was pretty good in it.

Old School, Anchorman were great.

Blades of Glory and the rest were crap, IMO. Some funny parts...but the whole "dumbass" role is plaaaaaaaaaaaaayed.

Watched 16 blocks yesterday. I was surprised how awesome that film is.

For once you hardly notice it's Willis playing the role. One of the best performances I've seen him make. Perhaps the mustache and hair helped in the transformation.

That rap actor had the most annoying voice and personality ever, but again it actually seemed like such a real character. Pitiful, scared, dumb as a post, the character and it's relationship to Willis character was great.

I don't understand why this never hit the danish cinemas.

Mos Def did have an annoying voice in that movie, and for the first part of the movie it made me hate the movie.

But Willis is superb in that movie, nice to see him being a fucking waste of a human being yet still compelling.

The worst is how Lucas has added more of his dumbass, pre-primary school kid humour to the original movies. Small extra scenes that are just embarassing

Stranger than Fiction annoyed me. Anchorman is clearly his best one. And Waynes World kills all of them! :(

Stranger than Fiction was great :( I mean, the whole concept made no sense at all, even the way they tried to explain it, but it was still great.

I watched Juno over the weekend. It really is worth the hype that carried it to the oscars. Very unpretentious, unjudgmental movie. And funny too.

He is very hit or miss with his flicks, and from the previews this one looks to be a big miss. They are estimating a 40 million opening weekend, which for this type of movie, is a flop.
