I saw V for Vendetta yesterday.

I'd heard a lot of hype and critism about this movie, so I just watched it for the entertainment. Afterwards I didn't understand why so many people thought it exceptional.

It's just 1981 set in a not so distant future featuring a blabbering Neo from the Matrix versus incompetent henchmen that couldn't put a evil empire together if they tried.

V is funny and interesting but the rest isn't really mindblowing or new frontier. It did have a sort of 80s action movies over it at times which I like.

Saw Knocked Up on DVD. Not as good as 40-Year-Old Virgin or Superbad, but entertaining nonetheless.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Watched Hot Fuzz tonight on dvd and enjoyed it tremendously, as I did Shaun of the Dead. I wondered, however, whether you Brits see it as funny-cuz-it's-inconceivable-that-garden-clubs/communityboosters-could-be-that-fascist or funny-cuz-it's-entirely-conceivable-that-garden-clubs/community boosters-could-be-that-fascist-cuz-afterall-they're-Brits?

well, as a Scot, and therefore a Brit, I'd have to say the latter option for myself. There's a TV series kicking around called Suburban Shootout that has a broadly similar theme of over the top 'garden-clubs' (in this case they run all the crime in the village under the noses of their inept husbands)
meh. Link was dead :(

watched both Revolver and Stardust this week, and really enjoyed both of them.. Revolver made me sit and think for a while afterwards, whereas Stardust was purely entertaining, DeNiro did a great job as the captain and all.

Anyways, I would advice everyone to see them :o

I saw Atonement the other day. It was rather good. I'm not sure how much chaps will enjoy it though, apart from their being lots of (she-of-the-annoying-jaw) Keira Knightly in it. I think the ladies will like it, I cried. However, I hear the book is really good but I haven't read it, so I don't know how it compares. So...umm.... definitely recommended for the ladies .... and gents of a more sensitive nature :o

@ Charlz ~ Probably because it is conceivable that middle-class English country folk could be that fascist!

Yeah, I saw Atonement as one of my ten films at the Toronto Film Festival, and I absolutely LOVED it. It kept me so riveted....and I'm a guy and I didn't find anything wrong....plus Keira was at the screening....yummmm.

I loved the staccato typewriter key punching that accentuated the soundtrack.....just perfect.

I've already been recommending it to everyone....even though it doesn't come out here till December.

Okay, The Fountain gets such a bad rap. It's a very simplistic love story. That's all. Everyone was expecting so much, and expecting this awesome Sci-fi.....this is Darren Arronofsky first off, so why you weren't expecting a weird story-telling vehicle (tree of life.....which btw hairy tree was half the point dude.....it was her!) In the end it's a story of undying love.

Oh, and I loved it!

Got a free ticket for Day Watch off my friend who works at the cinema. It's a damn good film :o Better made than the first one, I reckon, though it's still a shame they missed out so much. It was a bit of a tangle of a few different stories from the books.

Oh, and I loved it!

The only problem I had with the movie was with the scene where the Mayan warrior kneels to the protagonist, who's floating lotus-style, in the throes of nirvana or something. It just reeked of overt pretentiousness to me, which is a shame because the rest of the movie was great.

Interesting? That was such a pointless movie...like what the hell was that? There was like no storyline, the gore was non-existent (faces covered with blood is not gore) it wasn't scary at all and...okay Snakes on a Plane was better than this movie at least Snakes on a Plane had some form of a story line this one was just randomness with the vampires appearing out of nowhere and then magically disappearing.

Well yah I know it was pretty lame, but I felt it was better then some of the other crap they put out. I personally do not really care for gore. Like I said, it was ok, it had it's interesting parts.

Ummm Liked 30 days of night.... thought it was pretty fuckin good...

Josh Hartnett has been elevated into bad ass status now..... for that movie and Lucky number Slevin...

On a side note, Mark Walhberg has gone down a level in his bad ass appeal for playing such a hocake in We 0wn the Night....

I got dragged into watching The Darjeeling Limited last night. Fuck, it sucked. It felt like a number of vaguely amusing clips that were slapped together and called a movie. Ugh. Total waste of my money and time.

And I really liked Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Saw the Simpsons Movie the other day.

Wasn't bad. It just felt like a movie length episode.

Rewatched Ginger Snaps.

Considering it's a Canadian production, it's pretty good.
