Finally got around to watching Bandersnatch; it's good, pals.

Also Aquaman was enjoyable despite the silly silly parts; Upgrade is very good; The Darkest Minds was basically The Hunger Brains but worse and I made that joke before I knew the actress who played Rue was in it; shit I've watched and been made to sit through too many movies since I was last here to go through them all so I'll end on hoping whoever made Jurassic World 2 and the author of Ready Player One are isolated from any civilians and safely detonated.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

"... isolated from any civilians and safely detonated."

Man, you've mellowed.

:)

But yeah, RP1 was only watchable for the online quest CGI stuff. I loved how in that mega global internet the entire world's population was constantly in, all the big players lived within a few blocks of each other.

Yeah the film version was much better than the book in the same way that a paper cut to the corner of your mouth is superior to frenching an active blender

Spielberg did his best, bless his soul

I can't remember when I last watched a Spielberg film and thought "he did his best".

Sometimes he can spin dross into gold, for Ready Player One he spun diseased santorum into dross

Santorum? Now there's a term I haven't heard in many a president election.

I found it on Netflix last night and did the same. It's very very close to toppling Empire as my favourite SWs movie. (Also this time I noticed the Ghost from Rebels again, not just flying at Scarif but on the landing bay early on in the movie.)
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Watched HECTOR & THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS last night (was told it's a life-exploring feel good movie), and while it's no SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY (one of my all time faves and easily the most uplifting movie I've ever seen), I still rather enjoyed it. The denouement moment at the end is absolutely wonderful and delivered perfectly by Pegg & Pike, and I was very emotional. So while it doesn't work as a complete piece as much as I'd hoped (and like MITTY); portions of it feel a bit disjointed, I still was really impressed with it, and would quite highly recommend it!

Love that film.

Also, anyone who says they can find a better one-liner than Vader Force-choking the chap and talking about choking on aspirations is a liar :)

Watched How to Train Your Dragon again last night as it was on the box. Hopefully seeing the new one this weekend..... will be taking the tissues, I expect this to be more than a little heart wrenching.

My friend posted a meme that read "How to Train Your Dragon 3 could just be Toothless fucking around for an hour and a half and I'd be alright with that"....and I can't say I disagree. I LOVE these movies. Please let us know what you think (I won't get a chance to see it for a long while yet).

To be fair I'd be exactly the same! I will, I'm just aware that from the off they planned the trilogy to end as the books begin, so it's likely to be a little tearful!

I've managed not to see it yet but is The Post not supposed to be rather top?

I do feel like he'd benefit from slowing down though, and not insisting on ramming out two movies every three years.

Any you guys see a movie titled Sicario: Day of the Soldado? I guess Trump has been referencing scenes from the movie as actually happening on the border to stoke fears for why we need the wall. Sounds action packed and exciting AF, and I kind of want to see it now, but I need to know if it is any good. Is it?

Also, I heard Trump is referencing a move called Fart Warts (or is it Star WarsPosted Image) to make a case for his Space Force initiative. Glowing dildos and lazer guns that are shot by assholes who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Sounds effective. Gladly see my tax dollars go towards that.

Just finished Polar on Netflix.

I don't remember when I last watched an action film that I enjoyed this much. This film is like somebody made a comic book about 80s action films and then somebody made a movie about it.

I almost quit the film 5 minutes in because of how bad it was and then the film really leaned into it and I fell in love with it. It's a perfect 80s film. It has it all. Betrayal and revenge. A likable bum as a hero. Gratuitous sex scenes and violence. The hero gets captured and tortured but escapes and kills everyone. It's everything great about action films.

I hope they make a dozen of these.

Also Made Mikkelsen could totally pull off playing Old Snake from Metal Gear Solid.

Hahaha.

Also, Polar has grown on me in the week since first watch. I think the impact of how insane it is was a little lost on me because I watched it immediately after finishing the first season of Happy! which is fucking batshit, but by any normal standards Polar is bonkers and also two of the action scenes in particular are really, really well staged.

Looks cool but I continue to be resistant to Shaw being a F&F character. He's a bad guy. He killed or caused the the death of several members of "the family".

Also if I was a cast member of the original 4-5 films, I'd probably be pretty bitter about Rocky and Statham waltzing in and making a paycheck off their work.

I'd cry my self to sleep on my pile of money.

Crazy Rich Asians was very much an average romantic comedy.

I get that it is a big deal and I appreciate that part of it. But the movie itself was just ok.

Cool Hand Luke is on Netflix, gonna squeeze it in while the offspring naps.

"Sometimes nothins a real cool hand".

Just saw Ant Man and the Wasp is on Netflix, gonna try and talk the old lady into watching it tonight.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.
