My problem with his play is this: sure, as a town player one is more comfortable sticking the neck out, but why take the risk? After all there is a chance you end up on the day 1 train playing like this. No, I think it's more likely a non-town player would take the chance/risk playing like this, because he probably feel he has to do something.
I agree it's wifom, but it's my two cents.

Which sounds like Barghast is trying quite desperately to make Serc seem like scum. Suspicious in my book, because he's really trying to force an opinion from nothing - if anything, it's more of a Town strategy to try and provoke some reactions like that.

Yeah, I really don't want to waste time looking through day1 posts when there's two perfectly good annoying spammers that can be argued for instead. So:

Serc: Annoying RP spam early and for a long time. Overdoing it to the extent of frequently double-posting just to read his own text.

Shadow: Basically trolling, trying to piss us off with goodkind praise and annoying spam.

Personally I'd prefer to lynch Shadow since he seems to be trying so hard to annoy us. Serc was annoying too, but his was at least RP, not trolling.

Fener's definitely not putting in his A-game, but that being said, it is day 1 and with Barghast and Serc going after each other the way they were, there's not to do but throw random comments in, else you get sucked into the argument. I don't think this is a problem just yet, but keep an eye on this one and if he hasn't brought anything better to the table later on it will be a good case against him.

Yeah, a few people were annoyed by Serc, but Barghast took it into a argument, whereas everyone else just voiced their displeasure and let it lie. Personally I think Serc's RPing is neither indicative of innocence nor of scum, but rather just an indicator of what kind of mafia player he is (or what specific mafia player he is), and frankly he was looking to get some people angry, and Barghast neatly fell into his snare...

That Barghast would try to keep pushing to make a big deal out of it is, perhaps odd, but like with Serc's RPing, it can be taken to just indicate that Barghast is an untempered person, not that he's acting a certain way because of his role.

I guess, but people get annoyed at spammers, who as a result tend to be removed fairly early. Fairly low percentage strategy to go with, IMO, especially RP as provocative as what Serc has been putting out.

True, but if he can manage to spamalot and still avoid getting lynched in the first couple days (which isn't too hard with so many people someone is bound to screw up), then he can fade away and not show up much while still having a high enough post count not to be on the bottom of the list and get noticed that way. A risky strategy, but you never know what someone else will think is a good idea at the time...
