I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone put that much work into a Day 1 case review. Well done, but suspicious as hell.

Not making a thorough case is also suspicious.

Right, caught up. Some funny moments, but mainly spam. Will have something worthwhile to say in a couple of minutes, need a smoke and a cup of coffee first.

I find it amusing that Tellan would point out someone hasn't made a thorough case, and that this is suspicious, when he has made no cases himself...and...

Well even if we wait for them they won't have much to say... We should probably get a pseudo-figure-out-what underway and they'll either join in or refute it as they show. Otherwise they'll just come on say "I am now caught up" and not have much to offer. Of course we can take it nice and slow with 24 hours left until day.

Well, I am caught up now, and don't have much to offer, because I only see a bunch of crap. Not even interesting spam, mind you.

^See? He has nothing to offer. Then says someone else is suspicious for not offering up any "thorough cases"?

And his most interesting post, where he jumps on Serc, he also says (bold added):

Hrm... not sure. Any thoughts from any lurkers? I'll be back in a few.

I'm going to go ahead and

Vote Serc

Mostly because the RP spam is annoying ... but also because I wonder what it's hiding. And who he's trying to make noise to cover for. Nothing like having a stalking goat on your team to draw fire - especially if they can last a few days, and force other people into revealing mistakes.

I do have to wonder why so many people are phrasing the mechanics as town vs. scum - this is a proper Cult game - there really is no scum or town as such. That's clear from the opening posts.

When...

Methinks Tellan is either a Baali (hence trying to make people not think in terms of scum), or he is a Camarilla (trying to make people focus on the cult aspect). Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I actually really like that point, Liosan.

I'd REALLY like it if Hood's Path would post, since this is the second time today he's lurked and hasn't posted...

Some people expressed some confusion as to the backstory. Basically the world of darkness is the setting of the Vampire: The Masquerade RPG as well as a couple of other linked RPGs that deal with Werewolves Ghouls etc. I havent played any, so I couldnt give you tons of info, but I did do some reading up:

The Sabbat
The Camarilla
Anarchs
Baali

Basically what it comes down to (from what I understand at least) is that the Camarilla are the status quo of the vampire world (they enforce the masquerade that keeps vampires hidden from the mortal populace), with the Sabbat being their diametric opposition. There's a whole bunch of history and in-game stuff, but the important thing I got is that the Sabbat find it acceptable to drain another vampire of blood to gain power, whereas the Camarilla dont. The Sabbat are also form very close-knit packs of 3-10 vampires. There wasnt anything to suggest that the Sabbat would be a cult in the reading I did, but the OP makes it pretty clear that they are.

The anarchs pretty much just want to do their own thing, but are more similar to the Camarilla than the Sabbat.

The Baali are a sect of demon worshippers, who seem to be frowned on by all the other vampire sects abd seem to be quite badass. Seeing as how only two are in the game I imagine they would be.

That's as much as I could gather on a quickish read through, although it seems important to note that your clan (bloodline) isnt the same thing as your faction, although clans tend to stick to certain factions. Not sure why Ment is so anti clan reveals, I'm sure he has a reason though.

In addition, since vampires refer to humans as 'kine' (means cattle or something) I propose the concept of KIFOM, since we dont drink wine...

Oh, and as to this ... calling one side Town doesn't make this any less of a Cult game. We have multiple factions, and I strongly suspect Sabbat can recruit.

You're deflecting from Serc.

Well I think everyone has checked in except Omtose, so while it may behoof us to start piling votes on, we still have a long time before this day risks ending...

Are there any thoughts from the lurkers on votes?

I'm deflecting from Serc? Because you are saying there is no town, when Ment capitalized the word in the opening post? You claimed no mention of there being town, Tellan, and now you're getting defensive, and throwing out stuff to try and make you look more active. And as for Sabbat being able to recruit, are you forgetting the two other factions whose sole purpose is to survive? Yes, this is a cult game, but there are scum, and it IS town vs scum. Elsewise why bother labelling one team as town?

And as for lacking a sense of irony...well...I DID say I found it amusing...or are you misreading again?

What it seems like to me is we would have one large faction being the anrachs who are 'town'. The Baali are a small killer faction, probably with lots of abilities to compensate for their size. The Camarilla would be a larger killer faction, most likely weaker actionwise than the Baali, with the Sabbat being some sort of killer/cult combo. I think the anarchs would be classified town due to having more tradionally town-like roles (Guards, Finders etc) whereas the other factions would have more traditionally scum-like roles (NKs, symps etc).

There are multiple factions, and one can probably recruit, based on the wording. As far as I'm concerned, that means there is no town or scum. It's my interpretation - we're in a Cult game, and should behave appropriately. Ment's wording is irrelevant, because saying "Town" is the same as saying "Inno," and what the hell is Inno in this game?

And you missed my irony - I pointed out that making massive cases on Day 1 is suspicious ... just like making no cases on Day 1 is suspicious. Everything on Day 1 is suspicious. That was the joke I was making.
