You’ve never heard of the Silanda? … It’s the ship that made the Warren of Telas run in less than 12 parsecs.

I see what you did there.

For the record, as a descendant of those noble Scandinavians, let me say they rock.

BELARUS BELARUS BELARUS

Close, but no cigar.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Jingoistic? No.

Nationalistic? Definitely.

Also: USA! USA! USA!
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

As a resident of the USA, I'd like to formally apologize to the rest of the world for Tina Turner. Much like when Captain America jammed the world's first nuke up Hitler's ass and set it off, single-handedly winning WWII and saving all of Europe, we did not know what the dire consequences of unleashing her would be back then. We are sorry.

And unless you're an undead Ike Turner, I do not believe there is anyone in existence capable of "wrecking that bitch".

So prestigious, in fact, that they couldn't teach you how to spell prestigious correctly. :p

I kid. I googled MTU and got Michigan Technical University. That the school you attended? Looks like a good school...an average 3.5 GPA for incoming transfer students. Not too shabby.

Great song. When in England, I must say it did get old hearing it all the time, as naturally that song is played on a constant loop everywhere in the country. It's a fact, you can look it up.

Lol, spelling fail!

Yes, that's the one. An awesome place, I really recommend it. 4-5 metres of snow in the winter, minus 35-40 degrees, windy as hell. Fantastic! And they really like Scandinavians up there. I even met some people who had been to my home town...insane!

Now, if only I could find someone to teach me what sarcasm is....

Apology accepted and you're welcome.

Sarcasm:

Sarcasm is a form of ironic speech or writing which is bitter or cutting, being intended to taunt its target.[1] It is first recorded in English in The Shepheardes Calender in 1579:

Tom piper) An Ironicall [Sarcasmus], spoken in derision of these rude wits, whych make more account of a ryming rybaud, then of skill grounded vpon learning and iudgment.

—Edmund Spenser[1]
It comes from the ancient Greek σαρκάζω (sarkazo) meaning 'to tear flesh' but the ancient Greek word for the rhetorical concept of taunting was instead χλευασμός (chleyasmόs). Sarcasm appears several times in the Old Testament, for example:

Lo, you see the man is mad; why then have you brought him to me? Do I lack madmen, that you have brought this fellow to play the madman in my presence?

—Achish, king of Gath, I Sam 21:10-15[2]
Oscar Wilde, the great Irish playwright, poet and author of numerous short stories and one novel, also known for his biting wit, declared that

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

Hostile, critical comments may be expressed in an ironic way such as saying "don't work too hard" to a lazy worker. The use of irony introduces an element of humour which may make the criticism seem more polite and less aggressive but understanding the subtlety of this usage requires second-order interpretation of the speaker's intentions. This sophisticated understanding is lacking in people with brain damage, dementia, autism[3] and this perception has been located by MRI in the right parahippocampal gyrus.[4] [5]

In certain Ethiopic languages, sarcasm is indicated with a sarcasm mark, a character that looks like a backwards question mark at the end of a sentence, similar to Alcanter de Brahm's proposed irony mark (؟). Subtitles, such as in Teletext, sometimes use an exclamation mark in brackets to mark sarcasm: (!).

Oh, and I also love Canada...
