Well then, sounds like you'll be in good shape for a long time hehe. ;)

I'm tracking so many good games coming up within the next year: Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age Orgins, SC2, to name a few that are awesome.

Some of you people need shooting.
Oblivion = better graphics
Morrowind = better story, better systems, NO LEVELLED CREATURS OR ITEMS, better quests, better role-playing, and 'bigger' world.

@various people
Levelling in Morrowind is A LOT slower than in Oblivion. This is standard levelling, not using the 'cheats' you described. Cheats are weak, whether exploiting failures in the programming/design or actual via-console style.
What is more realistic and more fun? Being able to find high-level weapons anywhere, at any time, and get pwned by people, or having scale to your level, so that bandits get Daedric items? That is INSANE. Daedric stuff, and ebony, has always been incredibly rare. Hell, in Morrowind, there was ONE complete set of Daedric. ONE. In Oblivion, all your enemies are weak, it's just that the time it takes to kill them is longer. There is no challenge, it is weak.
Next on my list is the quests. Only one you'd want to replay is the Dark Brotherhood. I'll grant you, that quest was awesome, I loved it. The Theives Guild is just silly - steal stuff, do special mission, rinse, repeat...all the while being Robin Hood, and then being an honourable thief at the end? Sure, somewhat original...but still kind of silly. The Main Quest was a joke. Have you ever heard the term errand boy? Yeah, that's what you are. Fighter's guild was interesting once, but once you know the plot...no replayability. Mages guild was okay, but still only a twicer, save for the occasional replay for the lolz.
Compare with Morrowind, where you have 3 great houses, plus the thieves, assassins, mages and fighers guilds, the three vampire clans, and a main quest that is decent.
Plus, Oblivion has FAR too much hand-holding. I know, a lot of people didn't like the find-your-own-way stuff in Morrowind, but it was a lot more sensible, and made things more fun. And Morrowind DID have fast-travel - you just had to pay for it, and only went to certain places. Fast travel is stupid, it destroys all challenge, and it also makes the game a lot shorter.
Combat, I'll admit, is superior in Oblivion, but that doesn't help when you spend ten minutes trying to kill a mountain lion due to levelling. The graphics of magic are better, but magic itself is a lot worse. Missing quite a few spells, useful and cool ones at that, and it's also a lot weaker. While being able to cast magic whenever is cool, it actually worked better for role-play in Morrowind, where using magic required you to "ready" and not being attacked...I mean, really, magic probably needs you to be not getting stabbed. ;)

DISCLAIMER
I know this sounds hugely critical, and some of it is slightly exaggerated in places. I still LIKE OBLIVION. It's a GOOD GAME. It's just not as good as Morrowind. Be warned, not much compares favourably to Morrowind for me - so this is actually a positive review in places. With mods that remove levelling, I'd almost prefer to play Oblivion, but the quests let it down. Also, you can always not fast-travel, though I have actually yet to encounter many people who STICK to that resolution.

So. GO FORTH AND PLAY OBLIVION. It's still good. Just not compared with Morrowind, in terms of replayability, quests, and roleplaying.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Morrowind is an awesome game, but it can also be hugely frustrating. I spent frickin 3 hours trying to find the damn mudcrab that everyone said existed in a different place. It was basically things like that. But I liked the fast travel in Morrowind where you had to pay to take a boat/stilt strider to get places; it was more realistic. I just wish it would have been available to all towns and more place. I personally liked Oblivion better, but I would agree that Morrowind was a better put together game as a whole. Maybe Elder Scrolls V will be the best of both worlds.

Recieved Oblivion + expansions today.

I've been playing it for about half an hour. This game is good. Like really good.

It's one of those things you just know from the feel of everything when you start playing.

I am however laughing at the imported Expansion stuff. I've just escaped from a prison and I'm wading through a smelly goblin infested sewer when I get about 8 letters telling me I've just inherited a rich mansion somewhere, a haunted cave and a dark dungeon, some broad is offering me free armor for my horse and I'm needed for some missions up north. Not bad for a convicted criminal.

HORSE ARMOR!!! WOOT, I didn't actually waste money on that luckily.

Silencer- ok fine, I would agree with you except my copies of Morrowwind are fail. During the summer I am going to try to get it to work on the 360, it better run. So you better not be referring to me as being shot. Otherwise I'll find you in mafia... or not, I'd rather not invoke the wrath of the gods.

I bought a used copy of mass effect the other day for next to nothing. I'm enjoying it, though I do wonder if the story will remain this stereotypical or if it will grow in complexity and perhaps become less predictable.

From what I've heard it is haled as one of the best western action rpgs... ever. Like Knights of the Old Republic just better and faster passed.

I really wanted to play this game but it doesn't support 64 bit processors-

so, while I wait for somehting more recent to finish downloading, I got the original System Shock optimized for XP and have been playing it yesterday till about 2 AM.

it seems like your everyday FPs, with the horrendous 90's graphics so reminiscent of good ol' DOOM (the level 1 mutants seem so familiar, too), but the RPG elements are all there: you need to pick up and read data logs/email. the one part I found confusing as hell was the cyberspace part--had to restart eh game setting that to an easier level.

mini-puzzles you have to solve at the various power consoles are great, too--one of them was pipe mania, of all things!
in short, I love this game now. if you think you can tolerate REALLY low-end GFX, try this--it's only 50 MB to download, and it extracts to like 100 MB.

Still playing Oblivion, riding around on my kickass steed. Somehow I don't think I was supposed to have a horse that early but It does mean I can travel everywhere fast as hell. I like riding by the peasants imagining my character giving them the finger.

Your making me want to put another 60-80 hours on Oblivion again...

Oh yeah, if you play Mehzunes (sp?) Razor, make sure you level up to at least 15-20, because the stuff you get there is awesome if you get it at a high leve.
