Heh and I bet Eddie thinks that is a lot, my main character had over 140 hours lol. In order to play a game that long, something had to have been done so right.

I can't compare to Morrowwind for you, since all my copies froze on me, which is disappointing. That was on original xbox though, so I'll have to give it a go on my 360 during the summer. Though I do know that Morrowwind had more expansions that were long, as compared to Oblivion's Shivering Isles. I believe there were 3 for Morrowwind, which I have on the game of the year edition. So if graphics don't matter for you, either choice is a good one.

Well, I already played Marrowwind. I'm curious if moving to Oblivion is a step up or down. I've heard slightly down because you can't do as much with the magic.

the problem with oblivion is that when you have played it for a while you end up with 5min long fights (they are the nothing but "slash slash slash") im at lvl 45 and goblins are hell (no drops no chalenge tonns of hp...) my brother got a 36 which is unkilable (can only be hit with arrows... all other dmg is reflected or resisted) wich makes a boring game... buts its funny if you want to try to act like a law abiding adventurer or a serial killer (put limits to yourself dont play it to its own limits then you get owerpoverd too fast for any funny gaming)

what I heard about it, the best way is to quickly do the main ques, before youlevel up, b/c enemies level up as you do.

and then you can explore the world at your leisure.

thats wrong! they levle as you do... and dont do dark brotherhood quests before turning lvl 20 to get good gear (so you end up keeping it not throwing things that would be good away)

and try dark messiah if you dont mind a one quest game

Comparing Morrowind to Oblivion:

There is a lot more gameplay hours to Morrowind (a lot of which is due to no fast travel.) There are a lot more non-quest related thing to do as well in MW. I never messed with the magic system much in either, so I can't compare that. The fighting in Oblivion is much more refined and satisfying, however. I played MW a lot and never came close to even half of everything you can do (never even played the expansions either.) Oblivion takes a lot longer to level up (no soul trap/abilities cheats) so a lot of time is spent doing that if you want to level up your character before heading out and doing the majority of the quests. Enchanting is a lot easier in Oblivion (no skill required, but you do have to have access to to the University.) The big difference in weapons in Oblivion is that you can't find top of the line weapons (ebony, glass, etc.) until your level 15 or 20. (There are some you can get right away, specifically Umbra, but not much.) But in MW you could steal great standard weapons right off the bat.

I personally liked Oblivion better, due mainly to the fact that the graphics and gameplay are phenominal. If your starting out fresh playing Oblivion go to www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Oblivion for everything you need to start out, including easy to get weapons and armor, and when to do quests (a lot of rewards are leveled and suck if you get them right at the start, but are awesome if at level 20 or so.) Hope this helps.

I preferred Oblivion. Lost of the missions in Morrowind just involved walking, walking, and more walking. The actual person to kill/item to collect was fairly straightforward, but I got so bored wandering off to yet another desolate island.

I completed the Mages guild quests, the thieves guild quests, and become a silencer for the Dark Brotherhood (Got a cool horse too) before I even bothered with the main quest - when I did, nothing could get near me.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I am amazed. I've been looking for the Game of the Year edition of Oblivion on the internet and it is impossible to find in Denmark. IMPOSSIBLE!

So either I have to go down to a shop to hear if they can order it or I have to order it online from outside Denmark. This is ridiculous. It's available in a million different editions for X-box and PS3, but not PC, nooooo. Stupid console kids!

I could just order the regular version and the expansions but that would cost me a fortune.

Irritating when I can see that the original version is available for instant download on direct2drive.com

I personally enjoyed Oblivion's side quests (Dark Brotherhood, Thief Guild...) but found the main story really damn boring. To the point I never bothered finishing it.

Mods were great fun to play with though. Especially that one spell mod that gave you a bunch of crazy stuff to use...sheep and the like.

Hmm. I managed to find a bunch of seperate cheap copies of the original Oblivion and the expansion packs via Amazon, they're being shipped from the UK.

It's amazing, the combined cost was less than 15 pounds, but the cost of shipping is costing me the same amount! Curse you Amazon!

Hmmm, I was doubting and chose Lost Odessey instead, which isn't a bad game either. Same slow combat as the FF seriesand the same mathematical approach to fights, but not bad at all. Might pick up infinity once I finished this one and Mass Effect.

got the original system shock, but (surprise, surprise!) it won't run past the opening menu for some reason, ;)
Damn Windows becoming too complex to read stuff made for its own earlier versions.

after doing some research, I've found that there really aren't nearly enough Deus Ex-like games onthe market.

Currently d/l in System Shock 2.

When I finally upgrade my video card for SCII, i'll definitely be getting Bioshock and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Knights of the Old Republic 1-2 seems to fit pretty well into action-rpg even if they might be a bit more Rpgish...

Found them both compelling if somewhat easy if you know how the system works (aka D&D experience)...especially the second one is pretty heavy on fighting and the RPG element is mostly to decide how your going to kill stuff and sometimes just who your going to kill...

Ment, by M.E. I also meant Mass Effect which I ranted in favor of on a different thread. If you are capable of running it you should. Trust me.
