I would. I'd be very surprised. 600 points is too much of the overall market percentage.

2 days of 200+ point gains, but he doesn't know because he's been in the bomb shelter. I still think it is illusory, but that's just my opinion and I'll admit to having NO financial education or savvy.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

We can't say for 100% certain that the worst is over, but my good buddy Warren is shopping at home (USA), and if true, the Sage (with his army of think tanks) of Omaha might be reckoning that we have pretty much fallen as far as we can. He's got a purse of 25 Billion Dollars to play with! Personally, I don't understand why there isn't a statue of the good fella holding the dollar in one hand and the USA on the other in a manly pose in numerous places across the country.

During the great depresssion the crash looked like a stair case. For every 80 days of Down there were 28 days of it going up. It will just go up to 8k to go to 5.5k.

Basically this is false hope. Nothing has changed yet..

<LA county could have 20% unemployment for instance>

Ah! Nicodoomus! you're back :D . Can't wait till the market properly recovers...I'm so going to love saying...I told you so!

Look, there are plenty of positive things to look at:

the people with money (real money) are using it to buy companies and greasing the wheels of the cart and powering it away from the chaos that once beckoned.

We got The sage on one hand and our good buddies at roche snapped up genetech and there have been plenty of other sales...

At some point you are going to have to admit, confidence is growing and things are bad, but we can overcome this.

Frooken-When it happens it will be quick. So very quick that in one week everything will change. I am saying there is a CATACLYSMIC crash potential looming out there like never before...

^Exactly what marketticker has been complaining about the last year. Is it to late now?

Hopefully your right. But what if your not what have you done to prepare as there is still time.

Tell me, Nic. What can I do to prepare? I have no control over what happens on Wall Street if things are as bleak as you paint them. I have no control over the white house or congress. I don't really have any money in banks, and I'm only getting part-time work. What should I do?

Actually Nic, you don't have to answer that last question. I'm pretty poor, so I'm gonna demand my pound of flesh with the rest of the mob.

Viva la revolution!

Thats a great question. How do you prepare <without the misses thinking you lost it haha>?

It's really up to you and make yourself feel comfortable as there is balance to everything.
This is not a decision based on fear, but practicality. Look throughout history at people caught unaware make sure you understand why you are preping.
This is likely not coming to pass. Don't be dissapointed mad max world would blow. Like insurance you prepare because the unknown is possible. Spend equal to what you spend on insurance.

Find like minded people and work on forming a community. You can't do it alone, because if a crash happens in our current society expect it to be ugly. <This doesn't cost anything
Read up on what others are doing< This doesn't cost anything ---http://www.survivalistboards.com/index.php
Look at what you got and analyze if you could get everything for a month what would/could I need. This is a great starting point. <costly
Find a Skill outside of your own job that would be usable something you enjoy as a hobby (Emt-Paramedic someday /Blacksmith) <Expensive

Excercise! Pay off Debt and never keep debt.

All preps must have long term uses as in you are going to actually keep around if nothing happens. Make it fun or there is really no point.

Paying off debt is probably not one of the things i would include. If crash is iminent why throw the money away?

The thing with debt is though, the longer you keep it around, the more you pay. So it would be prudent to not just pay the minimum due but at least start to pay it down. Not if there are realistic threats to your employment status though.

Generally a good idea to you have about six months worth living expenses on hand as cash.
