Is Traveller Dassem Ultor? Could there be more to Traveller than we think?

perhaps just knowing how to attend the chaining grants you a backstage pass. that whole audacity thing that they use to get into the deadhouse. dancer could pop out of a shadow, then be all like, "well i'm already here, why don't i lend a hand?"
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

By the way, Shadowthrone and Cotillion did not yet exist when Dassem's daughter was taken.

It does just say "the powers of the earth came to it in the end" so it could be that there were other mortals present at the chaining. Besides after Kruppe reads that passage he has to flip through three more pages of names untill he gets to the part about which Tiste Andii were there. Then jokes that he half expected to see his grandmother's name there the list was so long.

Nay, that quote is practically useless, I wanted to stress the second one concerning Dassem's fall and the Throne of Shadow.
They always said "Cotillion, you were there at the last chaining...blabla" and I had not thought about the possibility that they were referring to mortal Dancer.

Are people still trying to figure out who Traveller is? I thought it was painfully obvious from RotCG. It was painfully obvious even before TTH from previous novels.

Perhaps someone else has mentioned this already -didn't want to read 3 pages- but can the title of this topic be changed into something that doesn't spoil anything?
When people see the title pop up at the homepage, they don't have any choice but see what it says.

The title is not a spoiler.
That question "Is traveller Dassem Ultor" has existed since HoC.
When you read HoC, you'll wonder about Traveller because you have a sneaking suspicion that he could be Dassem Ultor but you don't get a real answer to this before RCG/TTH.
Since you wont have any idea of who Traveller is before HoC there's not really any spoiler.

You may have had a suspicion that Traveller was Dassem Ultor (and many others with you), but I'm pretty sure there have been people who didn't. Now, if the thought hasn't even crossed one's mind, and you sees a topic title like that, it's like the puzzle pieces come together and you develop that sneaking suspicion.
I cannot speak for other people of course, but I like to develop my ideas solely on purpose (i.e., by reading the books), and not by reading it accidentally on the Forum Activity.
Another reason for me disliking the title is that I do not see the point in it - why not 'Suspicion about Traveller'? It's covers the topic well, but doesn't reveal a thing. You can read it if you want, or you can just ignore the topic if you don't wish to know anything about him.

I would love to know what he and Kellanved and Dancer plotted for sure.

I remember Kalam mentioning in book 4 that Cotillion was there during the last chaining.
Did he mean chaining of the fallen/broken one? If yes, how is that possible as it happened a long time ago and Dancer/Cotillion couldn't have existed back then... Or could he have??

Exactly what I was thinking... The chaining happened centuries ago compared to the current timeline. Could Dancer be really that old????

isn't that a mistake ?
it even says that his present form is an aspect of (doesn't say who).
but we can guess that he is an avatar of someone, perhaps dassem is dessembrae.

Not even a remote possibility that that is the case.

There has been more than one chaining and the last one took place within the last 80 years.

Now hang on..., does chaining specifically refer to the crippled god or any malign entity in general?

From what we know Chainings refer exclusively to the CG. Seeing how in the last one Hood took Dassem's daughter and by Kalam's comment on Dancer's presence it is reasonable that it was rather recent.
