QUOTE (Stalker @ Jan 23 2009, 01:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."
I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

We don't hate the French. Just their freedom fries and freedom toast.
We are so f-ing stupid.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I can't explain Bush's reelection. It was stunning. He actually "lost" the first election but thanks to the electoral college system "won". We make easy stuff hard.

If you wanted to get technical, BUsh "lost" both elections because he "cheated" by "vote tampering." Just saying.

I've always said that and not letting blacks vote in some states...But, its okay he never really did any harm while he was president...Except start 2 wars and not really go anywhere with them and dodge a shoe...Which BTW was an amazingly technical and stylish duck I would have been proud to pull it off myself.

I'll admit it, I was a little impressed with how he just stood there after the first shoe flew, then effortlessly dipped out of the way of the second. There's know to know at the time if that guy had a gun or anything, it took some cojones to just stand there instead of diving for safety.
And that's the nicest thing I've ever said about W.

We managed to keep Thatcher in for 11 years, we cant talk. Although she DID kick those Argentinian arses, so I spose she deserved a couple of years for that. And she survived an IRA bomb attack, so good on her. Right down the road from where I am now incidentally, 5 mins walk. She showed those awful irishies what what, eh.

It's all fun and games until someone brings up American sponsored assassination attempts.

Well, I thought it a bit needlessly inflammatory, even if the IRA did receive much of it's funding from America. It also got plenty of funding from Liverpool, and as much as I'd like to blame the scousers, it would be a bit unfair to generalise.
