We all know about my sentiments with regards to Terez and I'm obviously with Maccy on this one...

With regards to the convesation with CI. I'm just arguing the case for having non book related sections in the Empire. How on Earth did moderation get into it? I am one with the need for moderation, with this many uber geeks floating about there would be a war of words within moments.

I can not understand how, given the facts anyone can logically argue that banning Terez was harsh, her list of transgressions is endless;

1. repeated, frequently offensive, trolling in the discussion forums about religion, at least 10 examples of her doing this which we showed her a lot of patience with.

2. Repeated examples of her discussing inapproriate topics in the inn (graphic sex) which she was warned about.

3. Constantly questioning and complaining about moderation

4. After receiving a very minor suspension, continuing to do 3. through alts.

She was only banned after repeated attempts to get her to wind her neck in, I had nothing against her personally but regardless of how you feel about her you can not reasonably argue that she shouldn't have been banned. If she claims that she received no warnings then you can add lying to the above list of transgressions too.

I think part of the problem here is that we were too soft on her in the past so now certain people have got it into their heads that in the Inn, anything goes and expected Terez's behaviour to continue indefinitely, without action. I am sorely tempted to start moderating the inn as actively as I used to and let Frook et al see just how fucking lenient we have been with Terez.

Menandore - Its the permanence of it that was what we are all shocked about. We KNOW she done bad and we knew a punishment was coming, but the scale of it and the vehemence shown was the big surprise.

Vehemence? Dude. She broke the fucking rules. Repeatedly. She got the permaban you get for repeatedly breaking the rules. There is no vehemence to it.

Sorry, but clearly you're misinformed. When a member is suspended a date is set whereupon the suspension will be lift. An email is then sent to the email address listed by the member informing them what has occured and when they can come back. Her claiming otherwise is a lie, because this is a standard part of these boards. If she had waited a few minutes and checked her email then all this could have been averted. She has no one to blame but herself

Now, in regards to this idiocy about the site moving away from all things Erikson. In case you haven't realized the vast majority of people only frequent/post in the book forums, there are in relation far few regulars in places like the Inn. And as Cougar pointed out we're listed on the back of the books. We will moderate as we feel necessary to keep up some form of standards, and while feedback from users is appreciated you guys don't really have any say in the decision making process.

I'm sick to death of all this whining about how excessive her punishment was. Wake the fuck up, stop mindlessly supporting her and look at exactly what she did. Anyone would be banned in these circumstances, and her complete disregard for the staff and their warnings did not endear her to anyone. She isn't coming back, move on and talk about something else.

DW had the right suggestion. This has been discussed enough, like Rodeo said PM a member of staff if you have anything further to add.

EDIT: I didn't post after Rodeo to get a last word in, rather mine took longer to write and he had closed the topic by the time I posted. Just to avoid any confusion.
