Hinter's is the one I've always heard quoted, but I suspect Cause is correct.

The other one you're thinking of Hinter is floccinaucinihilipilification, which means 'the estimation of something as worthless'.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

i think in all probability there are are probably a lot of chemicals that could have very long names which are probably longer than soem of these words.
The one id always heard was antidisestablishmentarianism but i think this is just a repeat of one of the riddles we had earlier which was a trick and english was the answer
"Hollow. My name is Kurosaki Ichigo. You killed my mother. Bankai."

unless the answer is
"no it isnt" i cant think what it could be, i remember the original one was language i think but you havent included that word in your riddle so id have to assume it would be english
"Hollow. My name is Kurosaki Ichigo. You killed my mother. Bankai."

Or Llanfairpwllgwyngogerychwyrndrobwlllantsysiliogogogoch which while not English is a place name in Britain so should be counted as a Proper Noun in English

I might as well post a riddle cos Imp has just joined the 'I'd post a riddle if I can find one' crowd. The power of the interweb...its easy...

Mr. Moody grumbles about bad time-keeping trains from morning till night!.

On one particular morning he was quiet justified.

His train left on time for the one hour journey, to Clarksville, and it arrived 5 minutes late.

However, Mr. Moody 's watch showed it to be 3 minutes early, so he adjusted his watch by putting it forward 3 minutes.

His watch kept time during the day, and on the return journey in the evening the train started on time, according to his watch, and arrived on time, according to the station clock.

If the train travelled 25 percent faster on the return journey than it did on the morning journey, was the station clock fast or slow, and by how much?

Assuming the outbound journey did actually take an hour, and the train went at 1.25 times the speed on the way back. Rearrange the equation v=d/t, you get t=d/v, where v is the velocity. So if the train travels 1.25 times as fast, then the return journey will take 1 hour*(1/1.25) = 48 minutes.

Mr. Moody's watch is 5 minutes ahead of the actual time, because the train was 5 minutes late leaving in the morning. So when he thinks the train is on time leaving, it's actully 5 minutes before time. So the train will arrive in the station 43 minutes after it was supposed to leave. Assuming the return journey was supposed to take an hour, that means that the station clock must be 17 minutes fast.

Oh hang on, I misread the question. I can't see any clever tricks in the question's wording, so I'll have another go.

(EDIT: Question: when you say the outbound train left on time, by whose clock is that?)
