It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

A bit belated, but you already know it's correct.
‘Keep on like that and I’ll drop a rock on your head while you sleep.’

"I'm harmless, the non-violent kind of psycho."

'"If a tree falls in the woods and there is nobody there to hear it, does it makes a sound?"' the answer is an unequivocal "no." The falling tree simply produces waves of energy. The experience of "sound" is a phenomenon of the auditory system.'

Nope, it's oxygen I'm pretty sure. (we don't really USE the galaxy)

Oxygen...clever...if one were to major in astrophysics I imagine one would use the word galaxy everyday.

True enough ;)

Anyhew, I was quite shocked that I suddenly found the answer to that riddle so I forgot to place a new riddle here. (in fact, I only found the solution to the riddle after I clicked reply on Topper's post in which I would tell him I doubt it was galaxy but it's the best guess I've heard this far. And then oxygen suddenly came up :D )

So, new riddle: (made it up myself, so it's probably incredibly crappy. I actually think it's rather easy, but that's quite natural since I made it myself)
I have three forms in which you can find me, but only two that you can see. My touch is cold and hard at times, at others gentle as a breeze. I am ever present and am even part of you. What am I?

Just make up a silly riddle, like I did.

How do you drop an egg three meters without it smashing?

I think I once read/heard somewhere you just throw it up, when standing on a lawn with decent length grass, above 3 meters and let it fall down, and it won't break. Might just be a fable though.

Pfft. We dropped an egg 11 meters in frosh week way back when. Built it a little parachute and protective sleeping bag. It didn't even have the slightest scratch.

If nobody else is going to post a riddle I think I will post one so that somebody will figure it out and then post theirs and the merry dance can continue.

You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?

Fill the three gallon jug.

Pour the contents into the five gallon jug.

Fill the three gallon jug.

Pour from the three gallon jug into the five gallon jug until the five gallon jug is full.

You now have one gallon left in the three gallon jug.

On a similar vein, you have two pieces of string and a box of matches. If one end of either piece of string is lit on fire it will burn out in one hour. Neither piece of string burns at a reguler rate. That is, 90% of the string may burn in the first minute and the remaining 10% in 59 minutes. You have no idea how the burn rate varies.

Using only these two pieces of string and the matches, how would you time 45 minutes?

Light one at both ends so it burns in 30 minutes, then light another at four equidistant spots so it burns out in 15 minutes?

Since I'm probably wrong, I'll hold off on adding my own.

elaborating on that, cut one in half, and the other into 4 equal pieces

then burn first the half, then the quarter

No, that won't work, since then you're assuming every inch of the rope burns at the same speed.
Same thing probably goes for Sixty's answer.

My guess would be is to use the string to tie a match against the ceiling in such a way that the sun can shine directly on it. Then check out the shadow, and after it moved (360/24)*(3/4) degrees your 45 minutes are over.
