I just got in with a bad crowd... I'm very easily led, you know.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Besides, a bigger boy made him do it.

The things you call men, which are clearly the spawn of Sonic the Hedgehog and Jessica Rabbit, are most decidedly not sexy.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Mmmmm, it doesn't get any sexier than those two.

No need to apologize - I was just curious. I guess I still am since I think this thread got explicit a long time ago. Perhaps you missed a few posts. Or perhaps you were just in a different mood then.

So, what's the deal with you and anime guys - or the DBZ guys, at least - Terez?
I don't see the attraction myself. They seem badly drawn, to my eyes. And whilst I do know that's the DBZ aesthetic, It really doesn't work for me; visually that is.

I just have a thing for guys, in general. The DBZ guys came up because I've been looking for them for a while and couldn't find them, and they stayed the topic of conversation because of all the hilarious denial of gayness in DBZ, but they're hardly my only interest.

Meh - they're usually badly drawn in the series; not so much in my avatar. But I can get turned on by reading erotica with only vague descriptions to go on, and even real people are subject to editing in my fantasies, so I don't see why anime guys should be any different.

Okay. That's fairly understandable. I do know guys who will admit that they have sort of a thing for Jessica Rabbit (And I believe that there's a fair bit of risque material lurking around t'internet that shows they're not the only ones paddling that particular canoe...), usually because they first saw her at an impressionable age - and, after all, she is "drawn that way." As cartoon characters go, I've always thought that Betty Boop was kinda sexy - and I know a lesbian who agrees with me on this one. Although, admittedly; I do think she has very good taste in girlfriends, so we're almost bound to agree on such matters.

Yeah, Betty Boop is particularly popular among emo goth girls for some reason.

I remember someone posting a SFW clip from a hentai animu once that basically went on about how babies are hardwired to look at a downward curving horizontal line and smile in response, and that the human brain can recognise basic shapes and comprehend them as a person with the mind filling in the blanks, for example the outline of a woman provoking a similar reaction to a photo of a woman, in one of the silliest justifications for hentai I've ever seen. Also tits.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I can assure you that my mate Sam is most definitely not an emo goth girl (I think she'd be horrified at the thought of being compared to one of them). She's a very pretty, larger lady in her early forties.
I think the thing both she and I get from Betty Boop (and we have discussed this over several glasses of wine (in her case) and beer (in mine)) is the aura of innocent sexuality the character projects; it's not all about the looks, as some of the work on the cartoons (especially the earlier ones) is a bit ropey. I'd point you towards the pin-ups of Gil Elvgren and some of Betty Page's photos (not the fetish stuff, obviously) which have the same kind of feel about them.
There's actually a whole slew of American comic book artists whose work defines a genre: "Good Girl Art"; whether the girls are supposed to be good or the art is I've yet to completely unpack. Names like Adam Hughes (whose Wonder Woman stuff is incredible;that's how Wonder Woman is supposed to look!) and the late Dave Stevens (whose heroine from The Rocketeer looks suspiciously like Betty Page) and Jim Silke, amongst others. Even old school names like Alex Raymond with his femme fatales and glamourous dames from the Rip Kirby strip.

Consider it a free preview into the horrors of the internet.
Universal web access allows you to see what everyone's opinions, fetishes and tastes in art are. No-one ever said that they'd be nice.
