I liked the episode (THE REBEL FLESH), but I am going to have to wait for part 2 to fully weigh in...I don't think the Flesh Doctor is going to be who is killed by the spacesuited person...that seems too easy to me and not really Moffat's style to intro the solution to (what appears to be) his season-long arc point.

However, I think it is a safe bet that the Flesh (the Doctor having seen it before) is most likely the beginnings of the Nestene Consciousness from the (I think 3rd) episode of Series 1 with Christopher Eccelstone...either that or it has something to do with Auton's and that's why Rory is being so nice to Jennifer Lucas. That's stretching though and I think it far more likely that it's the Nestene...however, the problem with that is that the Nestene shows up in present day (2005) London to The Doctor and Rose...but this "early" version as the Doctor calls it is in the 22nd century...so the time math doesn't add up...unless the Nestene is what will become of his Flesh doppleganger. A few theories to play with there.

A few things, they need to acknowledge something more about the eyepatch lady in the walls and SOON, Amy's Schrodinger pregnancy needs to have movement (there is only so many times he can look at the screen). River's big story where we find out who she killed is the one after the next one which is good as we need to get that out.

I find myself less impressed by the suspense this season as I was in previous seasons, and instead find that I am kind of annoyed at having to be strung along with so many unknown plot points...so I hope the mid-season finale thing they are doing answers a bunch of questions and then opens up a bunch of new ones...that will satisfy me. Moffat hasn't let me down yet so I have faith.

The Nestene Conciousness is what animates the Autons in that first story...

I think the Flesh has more in common with Sontaran Cloning pods than Autons, though there is a bit of boht. I do really hope it's not a lead-in to humanity being the origins of either.

It could be that somebody survived "outside" the death/reboot of the universe last season. They exist outside Amy's reborn universe - as such, they have been placed into a de facto monitoring role.

Of course, my general ability to predict this stuff sucks, so I'm sure the revealed answer will be totally different.

Still, that is a really cool idea. Kind of in the vein of last season when everyone in the universe ganged up on the Doctor.

In deed, and with a Sontaran having been on set for Series 6 filming you might be right. I still like the idea of tying it back to the first of the relaunched eps (ROSE S01E01) with the Nestene...but it could indeed be like the Sontaran tubs that made the fake Martha in THE POISON SKY...

I think we have to take into account that the big bad this season is the Cybermen and how that might fit into the mystery as we know the mid-seaosn cliffhanger is A GOOD MAN GOES TO WAR which consists of the Cybermen kidnapping Amy and The Doctor trying to get her back.

No.

And to one-up you, I also think the Daleks are stupid too. Which is heretical to many fans, but I have Jon Pertwee (the 3rd Doctor) on my side there, so :apt:

Good discussion tying the Flesh back to the Nestene or the Sontarans. I really like how the writers/producers of the new series have tried to tie episodes and seasons together.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Okay.... THAT was a cliffhanger... I suppose I'll have to spoiler tag this next bit for our colonial brethren

Anyhow, to whet the appetite of our forum Whovians (Or should that be Wholigans?)

Do NOT watch these if you haven't seen Episode 6, I really mean it...

Prequel to Episode 7

Trailer to Episode 7

The title of Episode 7 is "A Good Man Goes To War"; it's been the subject of a fair bit of speculation who that "Good Man" actually is, my money is on Rory at the moment but the whole thing could be a misdirection... Which leads us, inevitably, on to the "Good Man" who River is in gaol for killing...

I agree with both. I have never found either one of them particularly threatening. Although I have liked some of the episodes where the Daleks were running things from behind the scenes. Although once they took center stage...uhh...
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Dude...my brain just melted into a pile of awesome.

Love that if it ends up being true and not just someone at IMDB screwing around.

So I was roundly mocked for even bringing the Tennant & Davison thing UP at the Gallifrey Base forums...apparently because it can be modified by anyone IMDB is not to be trusted at all ever...

Or at least according to some of the more nasty trollish folk over at those forums.

I dunno, it'd be neat and a big surprise for them to be in it...but I guess grain of salt it likely won't happen.

Sigh.

I'm trying to watch the prequel to episode 7 (http://www.bbc.co.uk...videos/p00h74x2) but I'm getting a 'not available in your area' message. Any alternatives?
