I'm really looking forward to the series. So far so good from the previews I've seen. I'm always hesitant when they convert a book to a movie/series

Well, every bit of the series so far looks and sounds and feels like Westeros without any doubt, always, so it's bound to be a masterpiece. You don't see a fantasy world being understood THIS well very often. And the cast! Casting is an art of it's own, and the people that cast this crew should be made saints or something.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Damn I should have read this before starting a new thread...
I thought it was awesome, but as I said on the other thread I thought the Others and the Wight's look too similar. Both have blue eyes and look zombie like. The Others are supposed to be ethereal with swords that look to be made from glass...

I really hope this series doesn't suffer from the constant "Previously on..." and "Next time on..." headers and footers that shorten the actual content by a good 5 or 10 minutes per episode. American shows do tend to go over the top on that sort of thing, and it is extremely annoying.

Man... Has the same bleak and brooding atmosphere that I always imagined it would have. Very annoyed when it finished I could have kept watching for ages!
