I really hope this series doesn't suffer from the constant "Previously on..." and "Next time on..." headers and footers that shorten the actual content by a good 5 or 10 minutes per episode. American shows do tend to go over the top on that sort of thing, and it is extremely annoying.

I would say you're out of luck on that one. American productions can be annoying, but somebody is trying pretty hard.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Man... Has the same bleak and brooding atmosphere that I always imagined it would have. Very annoyed when it finished I could have kept watching for ages!

Agreed. I could sit and watch all day.

Who cares? Ignore that. It's a minor quibble.

The wall is huge.
It looks fantastic. I'm a bit disappointed with the opening scene though, thought there could have been more of it. Maybe they wanted to tone down the fantasy elements...

From watching all these previews and teasers I have come to suspect that they have reworked the Catelyn character. Like rather than her urging Ned to go to King's Landing she's begging him not to and there was a similar change somewhere in this preview. I love to hate Catelyn so I hope they don't make her meek and needy.

You're a tad on the late side Pat. We linked this last night a few posts back. :)

I'm still kind of disappointed that they had to replace a hottie like Jennifer Ehle in the Catelyn role with the homely looking chick they got...but perhaps that's for the best since Catelyn is not supposed to be gorgeous or anything...hmmm....

I told a guy at my work who is a fan about the first 15 min being online and he should check it out when he gets home...he goes "Screw that, I'm watching it NOW!" LOL

Even work won't stand in the way of ASOIAF fans.

Seems like they're sticking to the plot quite tightly as well...

OK, this IS a good idea, I am now convinced they're going to make something awesome out of it :)
Also, Sean Bean - where does he not die in the first 20% of the movies/ series he's playing in? :)

My main concern is the actors who play Cersei, Jaime and Robert all saying Cersei loved Robert, my memory is hazy but I really didn't think she ever even liked him apart from a distance. Also, Renly is far less the playboy than I imagined him to be. Also, wtb a Dorne preview.

I don't think Ehle would have been too hot but I got the impression she was the one who bailed on the show, unlike Tamzin Merchant whom they didn't think was pretty enough. I thought she was perfect! The new girl looks a lot like a brunette in a 10 dollar wig.

Sans the wig...?
That's neither here nor there!
Tamzin seemed like a more interesting choice for Dany.

For some reason I was thinking Tamzin Merchant left on her own. I seem to remember GRRM being pretty upset over the situation. Oh well, Emilia Clarke is way hotter.

What did you think Whisperzzz? I liked it, the Wall was well done. But how did Wil get back out? hmmm.....

Loved it. Absolutely loved it.

I was sort of disappointed though because I wasn't watching the time at the bottom, so I thought we were also going to see the find the direwolves :)

Also, article about GRRM talking about the series: http://io9.com/#!578...-ending-of-lost
Pretty interesting read. I especially liked how he said that he doesn't want to 'pull a Lost' lol.

The actor playing Drogo looks and sounds like he was working on a ski slope or craft brew store in Colorado before he got tapped for this role. Whenever he's being interviewed I expect to hear him drop a "dude-brah."

How do you rape a cave? Do you ask, "You want to fuck, yes?" hear the echo come back, "Yes... es... es..." and get your barnacle-gouged groove on?

He does this and is annoying.

I also find the actress playing Cersi annoying from the interviews, but her acting of Cersi seems spot on to me. So she gets a pass.

I'd say Cersei is the only portrayal that isn't spot on, from what we've seen. She's not haughty enough, and way too soft spoken. In the books you see a very commanding and queenly presence.
