They are the words (akin to a motto) of House Stark, of which Eddard (Sean Bean) is the present patriarch.

It also means that Winter is on it's way, like after Autumn/Fall time.

Amoka's website moved a while ago. He's also in Russia and apparently has webhosting problems from time to time.

You forgot to mention that the seasons can last many years, so "Winter is Coming," is also a warning and a threat :)

Wow, great pictures!

Have been starting to rave about GoT to people I know, so hopefully a lot of people will be interested when it comes out. Does anyone know if I can get HBO in the UK?

I really look forward to seeing this...I hope they don't butcher it haha. I'm a little worried about the little incest scenes though haha.

Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women."

Now that Martin has this new HBO series coming out, he really should buckle down and actually finish A Dance with Dragons. He must be having complete writers block or something. The problem is if an author can't pull off the end to a book series, how good can you rate the series as a whole?

How exactly is this going to work? He still has, what, 2 more books to go, after dragons? And they'll do a season of ASoIaF every year I assume. So he's got 5 years to do 2 books. After finishing Dance.

The point is he's never going to finish before he dies if he keeps going at this rate :)

ADWD is just about done. I'm hoping for a completion announcement before the TV series starts (actually around New Year's, but with all of GRRM's estimates tripling them is usually a good idea). The thread in the book forum is better for that discussion, however.

No. It's airing on the new Sky Atlantic channel in the UK (which launches in February, IIRC). The show starts in April in the States (probably 3 April) and Sky will hopefully show it a few weeks later. There's no way at all of getting HBO direct in the UK, unless you use a proxy server and buy the episodes from iTunes (which is legal, via a loophole). Hopefully they'll have them up on iTunes shortly after transmission.

I don't have regular TV at the moment, and was wondering if there was a way I'd be able to watch these still. So you do think they would post them on Itunes for download? Never thought about that.

HBO's relationship with iTunes is a bit random. Some series they wait until the whole season is broadcast and then put the episodes up, others they put them up just a few days after transmission.

More here on Sky Atlantic, the new channel which will be carrying Game of Thrones in the UK. Encouragingly, they report they hope to show new shows ASAP after American transmission.

I've tried to keep myself away from stuff about this series, but the buzz is growing so I had to check out the trailer and making of video.

Wow.

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion = win.

Sean Bean as Ned = a level of win that may fry your screen in HD.

Even having read the books multiple times, I still can't wait to watch.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

It's means the foreplay is over and Winter will need a cigarette in a few minutes.

....or it's a line from the books... :)

Glorious trailer. So psyched for this.

Am curious to see if they actually work in the dragons.

More than her last pov. It's actually the very last chapter of the book. So no dragons until the end of the season.

There is a part in the 10 min clip of Dany holding up an egg, but I dont think they will show it till the episode 12 finale since that was I think her last POV in the first book?

That's from Episode 1. Illyrio gives her the eggs as a wedding gift and she later looks at one just before or after her wedding to Khal Drogo (which is happening on the beach outside Pentos in the TV series).

There are 10 episodes in Season 1, not 12.

There seem to be no lack of lame dragon fx on various shows lately (Primieval, Merlin) - hopefully GoT will do better.

The Dragons will likely appear, the huge skull in the Red Keep is visible as a setpiece in one of the production photo's.
