There are more of those... at least one, anyway, in the Oasis. (if you haven't been there, it's right in the centre at the top. There are green trees, hippies, and a talking mutant tree.)

If you get the Robotics perk, you can go into sneak mode, and deactivate any robots by sneaking up on them. I cleared a whole building like that. You can blow them up if you want more points/weapons.

Tenpenny tower was weird - i managed to get a load of ghouls to evict the current tenants.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Has anyone played "Operation Anchorage?" Is it worth getting?

I havn't played the game since I beat it and realized you could not continue after completing the main quest. I decided to stick pretty much to the main quest until I could beat it and then do the rest...no dice. It's still a sweet game and I'm planning on starting again sometime.

The Lincoln Repeater is awesome, by the way.

Well I bought the DLC- Operation Anchorage as soon as I got back from classes and put a good 2 hours into it so far.
I've seen some mixed reviews, mostly people feel it is too short but fun overall. Honestly the length doesn't bother me because its great to be playing new content (new weapons, outfits, environment is alaska). So I'd say that if you enjoyed the game and put a lot of time into it get the DLC. I put 40ish hours into the game before starting on the DLC so for me it was an obvious purchase, and worth it.

That is what I posted when I first got the new content. It ended up lasting 3-4 hours for me and was a lot of fun. I liked the new environment that wasn't nuked out and desolate. The game had a different feel to it, more of a straight military shooter rather than a RPG. I'd recommend it, but if you'd rather not pay $10 for 3-4 hours wait another week for the new DLC- The Pitt, it will be longer.

My buddy has it, he said it was a nice change of pace and he got some sweet weapons and armor. I'm waiting on the next one....which is when???????????????????????

Also I'm thinking the Blackhawk is the best weapon in the game besides the Alien Blaster...and the Terrible shotgun for uber close range.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Been on Fallout for the last week or so.

The Blackhawk is a scoped .44 that Agatha gives you if you give her a sheet music book (but you MUST ask for a reward). Base damage of 45-50, huge critical chance, and scope makes it a NASTY sniper rifle substitute.

where the heck do you get a .44 gun in the core game?

I've been hammering around for quite awhile now and I have a huge stockpile of .44 ammo but no gun that fires it.

Also, is there anything other than the laser pistol that uses energy cells? I need caps and never use my E-pistol. Can I sell the ammo?

You'll be rolling in energycells later, lets just say that powerarmored baddies pop up regularly. Much more powerfull energy weapons show up, I believe the most powerfull weapon in the game besides the nuke launcher is a gatlin plasma weapon. IT IS COOL!

I completely neglected my energy weapon skills early because I thought the laser pistol and riffles were too weak compared to gunpowder weapons. But later on your potential to become a complete bad ass with energy weapons grows.

If I replay the game I'll focus on laser weapons.

sweet. I've not neglected it too badly overall. I had to put most in small guns points up til now cause its friggin hard to kill guys in the early game without it. I always toss a few at energy weapons though for good measure. I'm halfway to level 9, when should I start leveling my big guns skill? I only have strength 5. Is that a big deal in this game for using the big weapons?

I didn't bother much untill the late stage when I was running out of things I wanted to put my skills into.

I prefered smaller weapons like the chinese assault riffle and the combat shotgun or 44 magnum. The heavy weapons are too heavy compared to the firepower in my opinion. I never bothered with the flame throwers or rocket launchers but I would occasionally use the minigun when large groups of Super Mutants showed up. Tough Bastards. But then again a combat shotgun to the face normally takes care of them.

Giant Radscorpions don't like the Flamer...at all.

Laser Pistols are the only ones that use energy cells, gatling laser uses energy packs, plasma and laser rifle use microfusion cells....just so you know. I've been stating myself up pretty good this time around, I'm a level 16 and I'm as follows...

strength - 9
Perception - 5
Endurance - 10
Charisma - 6
Intelligence - 10
Agility - 10
Luck - 7
Medicine, Speech, Small Guns, Energy Weapons, Science, Lockpick and Repair are all at 100.

I've spent this time around skipping perks and focusing on stats. I think the only perks that I have are Comprehension, Educated, Intense Training, Finesse, Sniper, and Cyborg.

I can't wait for the expansion!!!

Brotherhood of Steel DLC FTW! Increased level cap! Play after you finish the main quest!

All DLC is for both. But not for PS3 (yet).

well, megaton experienced the way of the Atom last night. I finished moira's quest to get the (pretty awesome) survivalist perk. I think I missed an optional quest along the line someplace so I didn't get guru level, but I got the second one. Not that it matters now, I have my room at Tenpenny tower and megaton can go screw itself. If only Moira hadn't been so annoying.

Wasteland scum. They deserved it anyways. How can you rebuild humanity by clinging onto vestiges of the past. Really.

I also turned in the android to Zimmer and got a cybernetic implant that makes my VATS more accurate. Booyeah.

Also made a guy commit suicide in rivet city and made a little boy run away from his drunk mom.

Well on my way to being an evil evil bastard. I'm stoked to see the ending that goes with the evil way of doing things.

Plus found a scoped .44 pistol in the ruined bow section of rivet city while looking for Pinkerton. It fracking rules...holy crap. Sneak attack criticals are soooo powerful with that gun. Not quite as long range accurate as the sniper rifle but still damn fun to use.

Interesting thing I read about the game too...you don't reduce the CND of your guns as quickly when shooting outside of VATS.

Gar. Everybody turns the robot in, not realising that before they do that, they should pretend not to plan on turning him in, and get the sweet plasma rifle first THEN betray him. XD

I didn't care about robot, didn't find him or anything. Just managed to get enough info that I could lie and say he was dead w/o doing anything. Though I suppose I should find him now and say "I saved you, pay me."

I got a circuitboard to prove i'd caught him, and left it at that.

A fun challenge is trying to see how far over the balcony you can get Alistair Tenpenny.
I found that a low angled shot with the missile launcher gets him nicely airborn. And well-placed mine can help to get him over the railing first... :o

Nothing seems to work better than that damn Blackhawk for sheer distance. Kneeling head shots in VATS leads to raiders and Yoa Gai flying far far away...sometimes too far away to be bothered with looting.

Maybe I'll have to pay Tenpenny a visit though, sounds fun :o

Finished Operation Ancorage today. It was pretty fun, but the best part is the sniper rifle you get at the end called the Gauss Rifle. It shoots MF cells, so energy weapon class, and has 100 in game damage. The drawback is you can't repair it yourself, so you can't get it to stay at that damage. Also, it only has a one shot capacity. In spite of all that, it still is sweet.
