For the record. I never said I was not sure of my winning conditions. I love it how some of you create total bollocks which is bad enough but then others come and suck on them willingly. What kind of people suck on another persons bollocks willingly? My statement was made when everybody was discussing a general poor understanding of the winning conditions. Serc was later made to eat humble pie after he suggested I and others were stupid. He had overlooked the fact that some unaligned players may have winning conditions of their own. So basically we still dont know for a fact of the winning conditions. And I do not know what my winning conditions are. I am fairly confident that the rules will change later to suit the situation. This is not criticism by the way.

Back on to factual conversation.... :D

The Serc/Isaac character is very interesting. However I am with everybody else here. My head is done in. :D

all this and no praise for my brilliance? I am deeply hurt by this

Soz Em. That was a very good theory. Better than anything anybody else has come up with. So we are playing Heroes with a Malazan twist? Suppose it adds a dimension to the coding.

A malazan twist only insofar as the names of our alt accounts are malazan. I'm elder shadow, or Kurald Emurlahn

I am trying to remember how they all relate. I thought Fener was killed/usurped? :D

Im not sure he would get sylars identity.
After all, so far he has shown knowledge of a night action, or something, not of anyones roles.
Although I can see them being rather useful.

For example, we get knowledge that sylar has a provisional on xxx, that means xxx isnt sylar.
So it could be rather useful.

WQhat I mean is, if Sylar kills Serc/Isaac, and there is spillage of this ability unto the game thread. EDIT: That would be somethign poor old Sylar would dislike, I assume.

I figure Serc is doing a bit of game theory. The company definitly do not want their decisions anounced for all the world to see, so they'll want to either recruit or kill Isaac.
Sylar will surely want such information. It could be important for him to pick what night power to use where, so he'll try to kill Isaac i think.
Peter will not want Isaac to fall to Sylar, and he'll have a chance to recruit a new member to his cult.

The result. The company will just capture Isaac instead, preventing both Sylar and Peter from getting him. Serc joins the company and lives.

Serc said he had a BP, so Sylar can't kill him tonight unless he bypasses BPs, in which case, why even grant them?

I agree on the trying out of theory and with your scenario. However, with Isaac as a company pawn (something Serc has been actively fishing for), he's also still able to vote, which becomes dangerous later on. The Company gets a majority right now at 9 people, and it is the safe (not necessarily best) estimate to say they are currently 4 (the Bishops, Noah, Haitian). If they can continue recruitment, they'll grow towards a majority soonish (the more NKs, the faster) and both Sylar and Peter are no closer to victory, apart from knowing now that Serc isn't Claire or Sylar/Peter. Not exactly an even deal.

Secondly, the rules say that a captive of the company can still be killed. Sylar could simply bide his time, pick a different target tonight on which his kill will not be wasted/ rescued and then come back for Isaac night 2 or 3. There's nothing in the rules that say you lose your powers when you're a company member, just that you are unable to use them... so once again, Sylar could kill him when captured and get the ability. I'm not sure if the BP is temporarily disabled while under company control, but it might not be (being passive and all that).

Finally, as said, Serc was angling for recruitment and named it 'the best play'. Those of us who have seen the series also know Isaac was an addict who got off drugs under company control, something Simone wanted, something he wanted, but he couldn't achieve by himself.
I think this could very well be an alternate victory condition being pursued by Serc here, but I might be tilting at windmills.

I don't think there's much to be had for the last part of your post, but it's always hard to tell.

As for the rest, well i figure Serc is doing things one problem at the time. He wanted action and that's what he got. Now he has to fight to stay alive, which really is his element :D

ah, nice catch there, Emur, have rep
so, i'm in less danger now, the only thing I still get is a block, if I'm not mistaken.
just checking in briefly, I'm heading home now, hopefully my nets there are back. if not, i'll have to find a diff. comp.

I'm fully aware the last part is far fetched, especially at this stage. Would not have brought it up if he didn't admit he knew a (roleless?) player, which screams symp, and I guess one could use some help if one has an alternative victory condition. After all, he has a fancy power, but it isn't one that would break the game were it absent, so why knowledge of (I assume) Simone?

[spoiler]As for his element... I think most headless chickens with the blood spurting out from their main artery usually survive longer than he does :D
Oh well, we'll see :D

ah but they've been known to survive for days without a head. Not much unlike Serc come to think of it

Ah yes, the block. I forgot about that. Yes, it seems you're being blocked. No elder or flooded in there as far as I remember.

so far it's been "flooded shadow", "Elder Shadow" and "regular shadow" only

any other roled players must be wary now...
i'm back, btw. no nets at home (apparreently my ISP is also FAIL when it comes to cable tv, so at least I'm not alone in this), but god bless neighbourhood public libraries!
so yeah, I can be on for the next 3 hours or so, if there's anything else we'd like to discuss. seeing as Day 1 will take about 50-odd more hours, we might as well..

My impression is that he's only said that Noah will capture me, and that Shadow will be blocked. The first thing he tried to say in different ways I think.

@Meanas - you never answered Serc regarding you wanting to lynch him I think. Are you a bit unwilling to partake in serious discussion?

I said I would vote him in a normal game. Who the hell blows a gasket like this just because of one vote, and an easily understood quote mistake?
