I guess this would be the best place to ask this. What all is known about this novel of which I have not heard?

Set in Darujhistan and picks up the Tyrant storyline, it seems. :)

yup. SE set the stage with Toll. It would be a terrible shame if this storyline isn't concluded.

On the one hand, I think this book should have come before Stonewielder, while the situation in Darujhistan is still fresh in people's minds. On the other hand, though, I can understand why he might want to hold off and establish himself further with a continent of his own to play with. It must be somewhat daunting to deal with a specific setting and a pretty sizeable cast of characters that SE has already introduced and developed.

We have Karsa,
Spoiler
, Kruppe, Baruk, the retired Bridgeburners, Fisher, maybe Envy and her pet Seguleh, Humble Measure and his mysterious plot, Raest, The Trygalle, and the list goes on. It's an AWESOME setup.

Anyway, this is the ICE book I most look forward to, followed by the story set in Assail. I'm not all that interested in Korel for whatever reason - I hope it's fantastic though :)

APTORIAN EDIT: I added a spoiler to certain names that some people might not want revealed.

I'd rather have enemies than acquaintances that I'm not sure about. I'd rather take you as an enemy, defeat your arguments and make you a friend that way. Fuck compromise.

I can't fucking wait to get to Assail. But I do hope ICE does this setup justice, as it has the potential to be mighty.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Does it matter? Who are the Sel-Morzim kings, the triumverate that can hold off even the might of the Malazan empire? Powerful wizards, that's all.

If there were no smart people others wouldn't feel inadequate.

Right?

I'm just curious to figure out how the whole history of Darujhistan went. There's the Tyrant who everyone is scared of, but also a descendant line of rulers also called the Tyrants who ruled over darujhistan too, presumably with the first Tyrant being the one who went away and everyone is scared of his return/resurrection/breakdancing.

That and pickled Seguleh. It's what's for dinner.

I agree! I'm quite fond of the whole Darujhistan crew they are some of my favourite characters in the whole series. I love the idea of the city itself and it's politics that SE has created. I wasn't overly impressed with the way ICE handled some of the characters such as the
Spoiler
in ROTCG. I was a bit irritated that he killed off some of the characters I was most curious about without giving them a more pointful story line. I'm hoping there will be some improvement in this next book.

So Stonewielder will come before this? What about after? Is ICE releasing a fifth book?

I'd suspect
Spoiler
will probably still be around in some form or another, it'd be weird if he agreed to that whole business and got nothing out of it but ceasing to exist. I'm not so sure
Spoiler
will be though. They might still exist somewhere, but I doubt it'll be roaming about on the mortal plane until the very end of TCG. Definitely not in the Darujhistan Novel.
